Next Wednesday, November 17th, marks the beginning of the 49th International Sailfish and Marlin Fishing Tournament. In addition there will be an inauguration of the artistic exhibition "Puerto Vallarta Mirror" in the lobby of the Hotel Sheraton Buganvillas, host of the tournament, presented by Ada Colorina, a local painter recognized as "The ambassador of the Mexican spirit".
This year, wishing that the most prestigious fishing tournament in Mexico may also serve as a platform for spreading the art of Puerto Vallarta , the Fishing Club of Puerto Vallarta, through its administrative board, invited this local Vallarta artist in order to create and exhibit an exclusive work which reflects the life of our city.
The work will consist of approximately fifteen paintings on exhibition and for sale. The intense coloring which is characteristic for the artist will be the perfect channel to manifest and transmit the joy of the local Vallarta people. As a part of the main theme which is named "Puerto Vallarta Mirror", the work will show different aspects of the life in Puerto Vallarta and as in a mirror, the participants will see how the essence of this typical small Mexican town is reflected during different moments of our daily life, bathed in light and color.
Influenced by her father, the painter Daniel Incháurregui, Ada started to manifest her liking for painting since she was little, distinguishing her by creating joyful and intense coloring which won her the name of "colorina" (colorful). Ada is an autodidact and according to experts her style is naive or primitive. What is true is that her paintings are impressive and for that reason since an early age she began to participate in exhibitions accompanied by painters like Javier Niño, Regino Carrillo and Manuel Martínez
Through continuous work, Ada Colorida at present has created a special place in the art of Puerto Vallarta and the acknowledgment of the people and her collectors has now made it possible for her to exhibit individually both in her rural studio as well as outside of it.
Her most recent exhibition took place in the Suburban Fine Arts Center of Highland Park Illinois, where her work was admired and recognized as the purest image of Puerto Vallarta by a select and expert attendance of art. Amongst the participants of this exhibition were the Mayor of Highland Park, Mr. Michael Belsky who acknowledged the work of the artist as a work full of life and joy, and our Mayor, Lic. Gustavo González Villaseñor, who acknowledged her as a local Vallarta inhabitant being in love with her homeland and transmitting accurately the joy of our people.
Her next exhibition will be open to the general public in the lobby of the Hotel Sheraton Buganvillas from Wednesday, November 17th to Saturday, November 20th. Local and international personalities will be invited for the inauguration.
Beforehand congratulations to the painter Ada Colorida and we extend the most heartfelt invitation for the exhibition to all our readers. We will see each other there!
