Patrick Denoun's work is the material evocation of an images collection compiled throughout his numerous trips, recreated on canvas in a ludic language of light and shade.
Reminiscences of the author that altogether relates a visual passage by India, Thailand, Bali, Morocco, North Africa and Mexico, country, this last one, visited by Denoun in repeated occasions since 1976, until1985, when he decides to reside permanently in Puerto Vallarta.
Naturalistic scenes, of excellent aesthetic value, boarded under an impeccable realistic technique, describe the great variety of similarities that the author finds in the natural world: forms of life, colours, flavours, flora, fauna, horizons and solar light. The simple things of life, discovered along his trips, are the source in where his thematic is originated: women who work the wool and transform it into fabrics fulfilled with colour, craftsmen who mold pots with the mud, inhabitants of the high mountain who appear in the markets to sell their fruits. "earth Beings", as better they are described by the author. "I prefer to express myself with the Eden that we have on Earth; to protect that life, the trees, the plants, the people."
Patrick Denoun, Paris (1950) studied diverse plastic techniques in the prestigious French academy of art Boulle, to where he entered at the age of seventeen, after obtaining his inclusion in a group of 160 students selected of between 3000 aspirants, achieving a specialization degree in wood sculpture. After years working like sculptor, he decided to return to the painting and inks techniques. Patrick and Katherine, his wife, live during some months of the year in Saint Tropez, France. his work has been object of an annual circuit of exhibitions in Geneve, Brussels, Zurich, Paris, Lyon and Lugano. During the last two decades, his work has been present in galleries of France, United States, Australia and India. You can also find his work in Pacífico Gallery, located in downtown Vallarta.
