Dynamic of the Spirits
By Ruben Cham - October 2005
Cinthia Corona (Buenos Aires, 25/10/1968) photographer, painter and ceramist, in occasion of Latin Visions: A glance of Latinamerican artists towards the eroticism presents, in the Puerto Vallarta City Hall, a sample conformed by six pieces of color photographs pertaining to her collection "Dinámica de los Espíritus".
This excellent compilation of artistic images, extensive in volume -- near the two hundred pieces in three series: white, red and sepia --, but extensive mainly in content recreates atmospheres so deep intimist that the magnificent result of graphical representation is even more admirable when weighing the technical complexity of the obtained intention.
It is not simply to approach the subject of the nakedness of the body, but the one of the soul. The author sets out, successfully, to register in light tracks the inextinguishable internal vibration that each mortal have inside and which, at moments of grief or hopelessness, grows in volume from the same origin of its inexhaustible source and stands on our rescue. The intention of the artist is to capture graphically the transit of the spirit and its different stages being shone from the light of the corporeal framework that inhabits and animates. Cinthia Corona does it by means of a kind of self-portrait, not as far as which the artist appears as she wants to be seen, but in the sense that she is simultaneously, photographer and model of herself, which entails a still greater merit.
The result is just there: a set of images of high aesthetic value in where the substantial fluidity of its content, multipurpose and powerful, arouses to the emotion, the spirituality and the eroticism.
Cinthia Corona studied Archaeology in the National University of Catamarca, Ceramics in the National School and Photography with Humberto Schkewitz in Argentina, her place of birth. Her photographic work has been object of numerous exhibitions among which we emphasize: Recoleta Cultural Center (2003), in Buenos Aires, Open Latin American Journeys (2000), in La Plata, and Alliance Francoise (2000), Buenos Aires. "Dynamic of the Spirits", series of colour photograph of her responsibility, was displayed in 2002 in the workshop of the Argentineans sculptors Affranchino and Tribarz. In Puerto Vallarta, place where she has been residing for the last three years, her photographic work can, in addition, be appreciated in Dante Gallery or, previous appointment to tel.
