Between the Breeze and Paola
Talented young Vallartan exhibits her work in the City Hall
Brisa (Breeze) Paola Espinoza Oliva is a native of Puerto Vallarta who has had the opportunity to stand out as one of the emerging artists in the municipality’s art scene.
She has also been presented with the opportunity of a solo exhibition at the Central Patio of the City Hall, which opened on Monday, September 11. Some of Brisa's achievements as an artist include receiving first place in a school art contest, where she competed against 400 students of the art workshop in CECYTEJ, No. 7. Her art expresses a kind of freshness that invites to reflection on human condition in a surreal world. She commands landscape and still life as well as other themes.
In the panel of judges of the contest were Ireri Topete and Sergio Martínez, among others, who can attest the artist’s creative talent.
Winning this contest meant earning the right to represent Puerto Vallarta in a regional contest held in Cihuatlan, Colima, which she also won. Brisa has pursued her constant improvement as artist.
Among other activities, she was given the opportunity to conduct a summer art workshop at the CECAO school, where she also worked on the stage design for a children’s play, and the organization of an exhibition of the students’ works. Brisa is currently working on a Science Mural in her high school, the CECYTEJ No. 7, where she studies the fifth semester of childcare. She is practicing at the Pasitos de Luz Foundation, where she works with children suffering of cerebral palsy.
This talented young Vallartan girl is worthy of support.
