"Aló Aló Café des Artistas by Federico León de la Vega"
By Silvia Álvarez - Noviembre 2006

Warm colors that invite to relaxation but at the same time to enjoy the sensuality of art and the gastronomy are those that predominate in the new Pinceles Lounge in Café des Artistes, this thanks to the work and creativity of the artist Federico Leon de la Vega who was invited by the Chef owner of the place, Thierry Blouet to express his creativity and talent in one of the most comfortable spaces of the exclusive restaurant.

This was the motive by which a great reception was carried out in passed days in the icon of gastronomy gourmet of Puerto Vallarta, where besides that the mural of the painter Federico Leon de la Vega was presented, same that surprised known ones and strangers by its originality and sensuality, since it combines perfectly the artistic task, even of the author personal, with the warmth of the food in the same union of both pleasures.

Paintbrushes on the table, palettes of color, a half-finished linen cloth, the naked model and a juicy fruit falling apart are some of the elements that compose the mural and it is located where previously and for four years the famous “Arlequín” could be appreciated.

For Thierry Blouet nevertheless the change is not a motive of nostalgia, but always a good omens, “I knew Federico Leon de la Vega for years and by other works, some also located in restaurants of the city.  Little while ago he asked me for the opportunity to have an space in Café des Artistes and for me it was the time to renew the Arlequin Lounge “, assures the businessman, who remained pleasantly impressed with the work “Alo Alo Café des Artistes”; “I like the sensuality that emanates, artistic theme, the fruits and the environment is like an intimate relation among art and food” aimed Blouet before attending the dozens of guests that congregated to be witnesses of the linen presentation.

On the other side the artist Federico Leon de Vega, was proud of being the author of the main work that will frame the Pinceles Lounge, call thus by one of the elements that compose the work, “during the creation process I tried to incorporate to the place the environment of the painter studio, could be mine even” confessed the interviewed who was honored to have one of his most important paintings in this restaurant.

As for the technique, the author used oil on linen in measures of 2.60 for 4.50 meters, which was set to a red color wall to accentuate the beauty of the colors that conform the painting.

Is important to say that Federico Leon de la Vega has his studio in Paseo de la Marina  31 in Nuevo Vallarta. For more information about his work you can write to him at fleondelavega@hotmail.com
