A traveler among travelers
We are all travelers, nobody can deny that the course of life is a journey in itself, and the painter Raymundo Andrade has even more reasons to travel. Therefore his last exhibition at the Gallery Omar Alonso was called: "Travelers".
Severe characters who seemed to meditate on the constant present in movement, fabrications found at the same dot of the brush.
"Everybody travels in a thousand forms; through time, through memories, not only in a physical way. Life is a continuous journey, we do it every moment.” for Raymundo this is part of his own world, of what he likes to express, what he loves and what he feels.
Since he was three years old his preference for painting was notorious. It was normal in his family to have art in the veins, nevertheless Raymundo had to leave his passion behind for some time in order to study for a university degree but upon graduating he "burnt his boats" and returned to the path of brushes and palettes. It has been 10 year since then and the quality of his works greatly exceeds this decade of experience.
"Everybody undergoes evolution. This is also true if we return to the topic of travelers. With the passing of time we are always moving towards an encounter with ourselves, that is the art. We acquire more experiences and throughout our existence we are putting together this puzzle of life and we express it" clarifies Andrade when asking him about his style and the way he obtained it.
According to this creator of art he puts all of him in his paintings. In this sense he mentions "when you see an abstract you do not see a theme, you see form, color, texture, music, and that is the painting. It does not matter whether it is a fruit, a social event or a person." Definitely his interior is involved in his oil paintings no matter what they refer to.
Serious and pensive faces of children, adults enclosed in "the King" (figure of a spider monkey), leave a space for thoughts and imagination, nevertheless this is the challenge for the spectator: to be the transformer of those feelings merged onto the paintings of Raymundo Andrade. "The one who sees my work is the one who will give the answer, I simply do what I like to do and each person finds something familiar which is common for everyone since we are all alive and we all have the same experiences. I do not like to define anything, my task is to offer images and let people speak for themselves what they find in my paintings.", comments the exhibitor who sees himself as a born traveler but not always through space or time, but rather as a traveler in every sense. "Life is a journey i.e. when you eat, when you go to the movies or simply when you have a talk.
