¿Puede la Historia Repetirse?
Nuevo Vallarta was born as an appendix to Puerto Vallarta. Back in the early 70’s when the two fideicomisos were formed, Bahía de Banderas in ’71 and Puerto Vallarta in ’73.
But the strong investment in infrastructure in Nuevo Vallarta back then was not followed by immediate growth and development. Political, economic and reliability questions got caught in the middle and Nuevo Vallarta stagnated for many years.
But now there is quite a different environment, the state of Nayarit has made a dramatic change from the mainly agricultural state it was then to the touristic vocation it has aggressively embarked on lately.
The history I am referring to is that of the Riviera Maya. It also started as an appendix to Cancún, it was known as the corridor Cancún-Tulum. Now it has grown larger than Cancún itself, to be, possibly, the area of most dynamic growth in México. A growth only comparable to our Nuevo Vallarta.
Well, this particular universe of ours is now extending to a larger domain all the way up to San Blas and it has been named Riviera Nayarit. A stretch of 160 Km with great beaches, valleys, sierra, tropical fruits and jungle that give it an unmatched wealth of diversity.
How does the future of Riviera Nayarit look? If developed within an environmentally sustainable criteria, I see no limits.
