Art Walk - New Season

 Old Town is the original Historic Center of the site, where on December 12, 1851, Puerto Vallarta was settled. In this area you will find the Main Plaza, the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and her crown which has become the famous Vallarta icon, as well as the City Hall. Old Town offers its visitors the largest selection of art galleries, craft shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, gourmet restaurants and cafes, as well as major banks and professional services. You can easily arrive in Old Town by following the area marked in the Art Walk map that indicates the exact location of each participating gallery.
This year, the 12ª twelfth annual Art Walk season, includes a total of 15 participating galleries and begins on October 24th 2007 with the celebration of exhibitions in every associated art house and continues every Wednesday night until May 28th 2008.
 The Art Walk is not a guided tour. The idea is to engage the attending public, art collectors and guests, giving them the opportunity, during the evening hours of every Wednesday, to visit the facilities of the participating art houses and to appreciate the great variety and quality of their collections. As all the associated galleries are located in Old Town, passage on foot from one gallery to another is an easily achievable and enjoyable walk.
You can begin the Art Walk at any gallery of your preference and spend as much time as you wish. If you cannot attend the cocktail service you are invited to visit the galleries during regular hours. The Art Walk is also a good way to meet the exhibiting artists, as well as make new friends and on occasion, reconnect with old. In most cases, a complimentary wine or cocktail is offered without cost.
Puerto Vallarta has become an important center of creation, exhibition and promotion of art, with more fine galleries than any other beach destination in Mexico and represents an increasing number of excellent and varied artists, of Mexican and Latin American origin as well as artists exhibiting globally. For your comfort, you can count on parking facilities at Morelos and Agustín Rodriguez streets as well as in the new Hidalgo Park underground garage.
