The arts embrace Vallarta

As of last Friday, the arts are embracing
Vallarta. For two weeks there will be exhibitions, theater,
literature, dance and music, much music, in different
sites all over town. Furthermore, all these events are
free.
From classical music to jazz, from
Eugenia León to Paco Toscano; from puppet shows
to educational concerts, from folkloric ballets to magic
and from student performances to living chess
Los Arcos Amphitheater across from
the main square is the main venue. That is where the
VIth edition of the Festival Cultural de Mayo was inaugurated
with an opening concert where the public was mesmerized
under the spell of Eugenia Léon's exceptional
voice. Her audiences are led back in time along a path
of romanticism, reflection, sadness and joy. This was
not the lady's first appearance in Puerto Vallarta.
Back in the nineties, she performed at La Paloma bullring
where, according to those present at the time, she sold
out the entire venue.
As each one of us has different tastes,
this Festival has something for everyone. The only requirement
to attend the events of the VIth Festival Cultural de
Mayo is to say "Yes!" to culture. Remember,
all the events are free.
