| Hand & Hand | by
Nacho Cadena February 2, 2003. | There
are two activities that go hand in hand in Puerto Vallarta. I am referring to
touring the art galleries, followed by a reservation at one of the many good restaurants
in this beautiful tourist destination. There are a number
of galleries here that exhibit the work of the best local, national and international
artists around. A good plan for an afternoon would be to visit two or three painting,
sculpture or handicraft exhibits, have one or two cocktails while you admire the
artwork and then, around eight o'clock at night, make yourself comfortable in
a good restaurant. There you might start out with an aperitif
such as a Kir Royal or maybe something more Mexican like a good "Tequila
blanco". Then, after enjoying a delicious appetizer like baked crêpes
filled with crabmeat in a Hollandaise sauce, you might follow with a rack of lamb
in an exotic espresso coffee sauce, served with some buttered asparagus on the
side. And perhaps, to end, you may order an unctuous chocolate mousse or maybe
a crème brûlée. When you've relaxed and enjoyed, you might
even close the dinner with a delicious special coffee prepared at your table and
even a superb snifter of Cognac. An afternoon of art and
a gastronomical evening, things that go together well in Puerto Vallarta. Nacho
