Poster and Magazine – Invitation to Local
Fishermen
The official tournament poster was presented at
a cordial gathering held last September 6th.
 As
I had been invited by the President of the Club
de Pesca de Puerto Vallarta, I went to the Club
to enjoy a gathering of fishermen (and women)
with great atmosphere and exquisite food.
The guests arrived a few at
a time, all Vallarta fishermen among which were
some who have participated in this tournament
for many years. All of us who had been invited
thought that the purpose of the meeting was to
present the tournament’s promotional magazine
for this year, but it turned out to be full of
surprises.
After enjoying a generous and
delicious lunch prepared by a Vallartan known
as one of the best chefs in the area, owner of
a renowned seafood restaurant in downtown Vallarta,
the Club committee spokesman welcomed the fishermen
and stressed that, before anything, this year,
they were the guests of honor.
During his speech, the spokesman
expressed the committee’s desire and efforts
to motivate local fishermen to participate in
the tournament. Also, there was an raffle among
the guests for four 50% discounts on entry fees
for the tournament. Normally, entry fees cost
ten thousand pesos, and nine thousand for Vallartans.
The Club also offered to all of Vallarta’s
fishermen, present or not, the option of paying
in installments. The President of the Club said,
“The objective is for Vallartans to come
return as participants and we will do our very
best to achieve this.”
The meeting also served to
acknowledge the collaboration and support of the
sponsors, and to present the tournament’s
official poster and promotional magazine for this
year, which has been distributed for a few weeks
already among institutions and organizations where
the event should be advertised.
All is going forward very well
and it is expected that the tournament will be
filled with joy and great participation. It looks
as if this year outside participants will be competing
against the most expert fishermen of Vallarta.
