The International Sailfish
Tournament, the oldest, most traditional event
in Puerto Vallarta, has officially begun.
At an animated press conference
held at the Club de Pesca de Puerto Vallarta,
its president, Sr. Alberto Sánchez Cárdenas,
accompanied by municipal authorities, sponsors
and guests, announced the official start of the
48th International Sailfish Tournament.
During the conference, they
also announced the prizes for the winners in different
species categories, which you can check out at
the tournament’s web site: http://www.fishvallarta.com
They stressed that those prizes would be awarded
regardless of the number of participants, a number
still unknown at this time, but expected to exceed
last year’s.
We were also told that there
was a possibility that the participants may receive
their permits early from the appropriate authorities
and everyone was urged to start the paperwork
as early as possible. The cost for an individual
permit is $400. Pesos, valid for one year.
During the conference, we found
out that on this occasion, no craft will set out
before the flag raising ceremony and the arrival
site for everyone will be in front of the Flamingos
Vallarta Hotel in Marina Vallarta.
In answer to one of the questions
posed by a member of the media, Engineer Michel
emphasized the fact that without doubt, the Bay
of Banderas and surrounding areas are the very
best place for sport fishing in all of Mexico
today. Consequently, this tournament is sure to
be filled with emotion, and new world records
are sure to be set.
Everything’s ready! As
it has done for the last 48 years, the oldest
social sports event will begin next Thursday,
November 20th, and everyone’s invited! Good
luck and congratulations to the Club de Pesca
that -for many generations- has enabled us to
enjoy what has become known as the best fishing
tournament in Mexico, organized by the Mexicans
of Vallarta.

El Torneo Internacional de
Pesca de Pez Vela, el evento de más tradición
en Puerto Vallarta, oficialmente arranca.
En animada rueda de prensa
celebrada en las instalaciones del Club de Pesca
de Puerto Vallarta, su presidente el Sr. Alberto
Sánchez Cárdenas acompañado
de autoridades municipales, patrocinadores e invitados,
anuncio a la comunidad que oficialmente arranca
el 48 Torneo Internacional de Pesca de Pez Vela.
Durante la reunión se
confirmo cuales serán los premios por las
capturas de las diferentes especies, mismos que
se pueden conocer en el sitio web del torneo:

Se hizo la aclaración de que dichos premios
serán entregados independientemente del
número de participantes, que por cierto
aun no se tiene un dato aproximado de cuantos
serán, y se confía en sobrepasar
el número del año pasado.
Se aprovecho la ocasión
parta notificar que para todos los participantes
pescadores, existe la disponibilidad para que
las autoridades correspondientes, les expidan
los permisos con anticipación. Se informo
que el costo por permiso individual es de cuatrocientos
pesos, mismo que es vigente por un año
y se hizo la invitación para que todos
lo tramiten con anticipación.
Durante la conferencia también
se comunicó que en esta ocasión,
ninguna embarcación saldrán antes
de los honores a la bandera, y que la llegada
para todos será frente al hotel Flamingos
Vallarta en Marina Vallarta.
Al responder a una de las preguntas
elaboradas por uno de los medios informativos,
el Ing. Michel hizo énfasis en que sin
lugar a dudas, la zona de Bahía de Banderas
y sus alrededores, son actualmente la mejor área
para la pesca deportiva en todo México,
y por ello se asegura que este torneo estará
lleno de emociones, y de seguro se implementará
algún nuevo record mundial.
Todo esta listo!.... como siempre
desde hace cuarenta y ocho años, el evento
social, cultural y deportivo más antiguo
de Puerto Vallarta arrancará el próximo
día jueves 20 de noviembre, y todos estamos
invitados. En hora buena y muchas felicidades
al Club de Pesca por que a través de varias
generaciones nos ha hecho posible de disfrutar
de lo que se reconoce como el mejor torneo de
pesca de México organizado por mexicanos
vallartenses.
