Officially it has beginning
the promotion of the 49 th International Sailfish & Marlin
Fishing Tournament which will take place on November
17, 18, 19 and 20 on this year 2004. Mr. Raul Serna
Navarro, the actual president of the Puerto Vallarta
Fishing Club, has comment that in this year the value
of the prizes had been increase form 60 to 160 thousand
dollars. Every year the accomplish of this tournament
is possible by the commitment of every member of
the Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club, which are the ones
who are personally involved through their board of
directors, to get the support of some sponsors, public
and private institutions which without them this
event wouldn't be possible.
 This tournament is one of the most traditional in
Mexico. And like never before we are working with passion
on it, just to be this year distinguish like the one
which marked the difference. The actual Board of Directors
had been conjunct some ideas and its unifying efforts
that are generating great expectations and excitements,
that the number of the sponsors has been exceed from
those of last years. Among those conjoint ideas, it
has been included that from the start date, November
17 through 21, in the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort,
the official headquarter of the tournament, it's going
to be present a paint exhibition from Ada Colorina
, an artist born in Puerto Vallarta and considered
the ambassadress of the mexican spirit. The name of
her exhibition would be: Puerto Vallarta Mirror, it
will consist of 15 paints in different sizes. It is
important to say that one of her paints would be the
emblem of the tournament. The exhibition will be open
to the public in general, and in it's opening some
special people from our town and foreigners are going
to be invited. Just for this our tournament is very
unique. For the first time, also, the tournament is
going to be international broadcast, by the assistance
of representatives of a fishing and hunting TV program
in Mexico.
To top the cake, Mr. Miguel Koenig, the owner of the
Blue Marlin Fishing World Record during the Hawaii
Marlin Tournament, July 2003, has been invited to the
tournament. Miguel Koenig lived in our city in 1989
until 1996, in that time he was an active member of
the Fishing Club, and in those years he started practicing
fishing. In fact, when he got the World Capture Record,
he mentioned and recognize that without the experience
he gain in our bay, he wouldn't be able to get that
record. In this occasion the Fishing Club, is going
to offer him a recognition for his achievement.
All its been preparing for this tournament to be a
social event, cultural and sportive more relevant that
has been perform during this year in Puerto Vallarta.
The sea in Bandera's Bay, full of sea life and huge
specimens, are waiting with open arms to all participants
and visitors of the whole world.

Oficialmente ha dado inicio
la promoción del
49 Tornero Internacional de Pesca de Pez Vela y Marlín,
a celebrarse los próximos días 17, 18,
19 y 20 de noviembre. Raúl Serna Navarro, actual
presidente de la Asociación del Club de Pesca
de Puerto Vallarta A. C. ha comentado que este año
el valor de los premios ha repartir se ha incrementado
de sesenta mil dólares del año pasado,
a ciento sesenta mil dólares. Cada año
la realización del torneo es posible al compromiso
y entrega de cada uno de los miembros del Club de Pesca,
quienes son los que intervienen personalmente y a través
de su mesa directiva, para conseguir el apoyo de patrocinadores,
así como de instituciones privadas y públicas
sin las cuales el evento no sería posible.
Este torneo es el de mayor
tradición en México,
y como nunca antes se esta trabajando apasionadamente
para que este año sea distinguido como el que
marcó la diferencia. La mesa directiva actual
ha conjuntado ideas y esta uniendo esfuerzos que ya
generan gran expectativa y emoción, a tal grado
que el número de patrocinadores excede al de
los años anteriores. Entre las ideas conjuntadas
se ha incluido que a partir de la fecha de inicio,
del 17 de noviembre al 21, en el hotel Sheraton Buganvillas
que es el anfitrión oficial del torneo, se presentará una
exhibición de pinturas de Ada Colorina, pintora
vallertense considerada como la embajadora del espíritu
de México. El tema de su exposición será:
Espejo de Puerto Vallarta, y constará de un
mínimo de quince obras de diferentes tamaños.
La exhibición estará abierta al público
en general, y a su inauguración serán
invitadas personalidades locales, nacionales e internacionales.
Esto por si solo hacen que el torneo sea único.
Cabe mencionar que una Ada Colorina es autora de la
pintura que el Club de Pesca utiliza como el emblema
de su torneo. También por primera vez el torneo
será televisado a nivel internacional, a través
de la asistencia de representantes de un programa especializado
en la pesca y la caza en México.
Como cereza en el pastel,
Miguel Koenig, poseedor del récord mundial de pesca de marlín
azul logrado durante el Hawai Marlin Tournament de
julio del 2003, a sido invitado a participar en el
torneo. Miguel Koenig vivió en nuestra ciudad
de 1989 a 1996, época durante la cual fue miembro
activo del Club de Pesca, y durante la cual también
comenzó a practicar la pesca. De hecho al haber
obtenido el récord mundial de captura, el hizo
mención y reconocimiento de que no le hubiera
sido posible sin los conocimientos y experiencia adquirida
en nuestra bahía. En esta ocasión el
Club de Pesca aprovechará la oportunidad para
entregarle un reconocimiento por su hazaña.
Todo se esta preparando para
que el torneo resulte ser el evento social, cultural
y deportivo más
relevante que se haya realizado durante este año
en Puerto Vallarta. El mar de la bahía de banderas,
abundante de vida marina y cobijo de grandes ejemplares,
están esperando con los brazos abiertos a participantes
y visitantes de todo el mundo.
