Perspective from the air...

By The Editor - February 2007

After a conversation with my very dear y admirable friend Marianne, who is the translator of most of our articles, I dared to hire the services of a small airplane in order to undertake a trip by plane and take some photographs.

For several months I have been asking my Creator to give me the opportunity to see things from the perspective He is seeing them, and although most certainly the view from a small airplane is not precisely that, nevertheless having flown over the city from up high has contributed for my beginning to observe things that you can never see with a simple glance or looking at it from the “ground floor” and definitely the perspective from the air opened my conscience towards the necessity of increasing my commitment and devotion towards port which has given me so much throughout the years.

The panorama of Puerto Vallarta and its surroundings from the air is extraordinarily moving. It is inevitable not to notice the huge growth. The city is bigger than anyone would imagine. The spectacle is especially striking in the downtown area where the red color of the roofs contrasts with the blue and green of the impressive ocean caressing the beaches of this friendliest destination in the world, with a white and beautiful foam lifted by the wind who sees about taking it up to the green jungle in the mountains. Welcome to February, the most romantic month of the year and welcome to the most romantic city of Mexico!

A lot of work has been carried out in order to take maximum advantage of the international popularity of our destination. The supply of residential developments is booming, predicting continuous growth which on the other hand shows us the immense responsibility all of us who live here have to preserve our highly sought-after natural surroundings.

There is no other place in the world that is so blessed by God as the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta and even from above you perceive that the essence that gave the port its origin in order to turn it into an international tourist destination continues to be present in midst all the growth and progress.

Thank you Lord for the opportunity you have given me to see my Puerto Vallarta from a place where it is possible to examine each and every corner of it.
