FROM THE NORTH SHORE

San Pancho Jewelry Designer - Monserrat Pascual.

San Pancho is a magical place that can inspire one to art, creativity and harmony.

Monserrat Pascual was born in Barcelona, Spain. She studied in the school of arts in Massana, Spain. She has lived in México for the past eleven years and during that time she came to realize her calling was to create beautiful jewelry. Monserrat is a happy, creative artist that lives life with passion and from a corner in her house she creates and gives a part of herself to each piece.

Currently Monserrat sells her jewelry from her studio at her house, Gallery Omar Alonso in Puerto Vallarta, México City, Valle de Bravo, Cabo San Lucas, Chicago, San Francisco California, Vail Colorado and Alaska. She has had many exhibitions in México City.

About her jewelry she says:

  • I wish to make my jewelry be innovating.
  • I try to use subtle designs without flaunting.
  • I need to resist the temptation of creating pieces just for the sake of being different.
  • I wish to strive to give pleasure to the wearer of the jewelry as well as to all to view my work.

Monserrat feels her work is instinctive: "I am not conscious of what is happening to the pieces until they are finished. It's like I view the pieces for the first time when I realize I have finished with it. I look at it and can tell myself: Well done."

Monserrat seeks, like the primitive cultures, to give her creations distinction, beauty and her own seal of approval. Monserrat uses an incredible variety of material, such as; feathers, shell of armadillo, coral, opal, fish, wood, bone, crystal, enamel, mammoth ivory fossils and her latest material: colored resins which she creates herself. She strives for a free-style where almost any material could be subject for use.

Miniature Paintings:

Her latest collection reveals a mix of colors using silver and resins and introduces miniature paintings in her jewelry. Each piece has its own unique process of creation.
