The smell of the sea, swaying palm trees, birds
singing, the intriguing jungle that surrounded the undiscovered paradise,
people sitting & talking
without rush - or simply looking faraway like waiting for something to happen,
peasants on horses going to their fields, breaking oil coconuts to sell to
make cooking oil or other precious products, fishermen going out to the sea
in search of their food, women making tortillas, doing laundry at the river
or playing with the children, unaware of the time, or that everyday was the
same, like the movement of the waves, always there - like that.

In 1975 Don Miguel's recently discover paradise was keeping him awake full
of excitement. He started the long journey with the help of architect Antonio
Santabella beginning on the construction the five family villas with two
bedrooms each. Shortly afterwards, 26 more units materialized including a
small pool and a restaurant/bar. For a long time Don Miguel operated the
hotel by driving back and forth from Guadalajara. Don Miguel gratefully accepted
help from family members who also bought land and built vacation homes in
Costa Azul. Slowly the residential homes around the resort started to appear
and the area grew to the approximately 30 homes of today. But a new idea
was forming in Don Miguel's mind - to sell the hotel.
San Pancho, being so close to Puerto Vallarta, drew in foreign admirers
whose hearts melted at the beauty. The one and a half kilometer of white
sandy beach was hard to resist. Everything seemed in place for foreign investment
to enhance the hotel. Don Miguel started to promote the sale but he knew
this was not going to be easy. Don Miguel was patience, did his homework
and finally sold Costa Azul.
John Cooper, a young entrepreneur from San Clemente, California,
is now the new owner of the Costa Azul Adventure Resort and has turned the
business around. Here people can stay at the hotel their entire stay if they
want to, but they are strongly encouraged to explore and visit other towns
and beaches. Costa Azul, to this day, has an average of fifty employees.
It is the only place in the area that offers a Mexican Fiesta celebration
every Friday at 7.00 p.m. Costa Azul also has its own Adventure Tours -  from
horseback riding to snorkeling to fishing to surfing. Costa Azul is, to many,
Mexico's favorite destination.
1994 - After selling Costa Azul Don Miguel needed
a new challenge. It was time to create something new and different. Villas
Paradise, a 10 unit project, became his new obsession. A Moorish style
that would include the impressing penthouse, the "Taj Mahal" - which we
will give all the details next week in Part Three.

El olor a mar las hermosas palmeras,
el canto de los pájaros la intrigante
selva que rodeaba el no aun descubierto San Pancho, la gente sentada sin
prisa conversando o simplemente mirando hacia lo lejos como esperando, algunos
campesinos en sus caballos yendo hacia sus potreros a buscar el ganado, otros
al campo a sembrar o a realizar la muy común labor de quebrar el coco
de aceite. Los pescadores al mar a buscar su comida las mujeres haciendo
tortillas, lavando en el rió o cuidando los niños, sin percatarse
del tiempo, cualquier día parecía igual como el ir y venir
de las olas siempre en movimiento siempre nomás ahí.

Un paraíso recién descubierto le quitaba el sueño,
lleno de emoción comenzó su larga jornada con la ayuda del
Arquitecto Antonio Santabella. Cinco villas familiares primero con dos recamaras
cocina, amplia sala donde podrían dormir dos personas más,
terraza bacón con una hermosa vista, después 26 unidades más.
El hotel contaba con una pequeña alberca, bar y restaurante. Por largo
tiempo Don Miguel opero su hotel yendo y viniendo a Guadalajara a veces ayudado
por miembros de su familia, quienes también adquirieron terrenos y
construyeron sus casas para vacacionar en este lugar. Lentamente el área
residencial de Costa Azul empezó a crecer, sin embargo Don Miguel
ya tenia una nueva idea en mente. vender el hotel Costa Azul.
Por su cercanía a Puerto Vallarta, San Pancho ya tenia más
admiradores, los extranjeros caían rendidos a sus pies por la hermosa
playa de blanca arena de 1 kilómetro y medio que era difícil
de resistir. Tal parecía que un extranjero seria un buen candidato
para impulsar el hotel y comenzó a promover la venta. Labor que no
resultaría nada fácil, pero Don Miguel no desistió y
después de una larga lucha y haber rentado el hotel por 7 años
a John Cooper, obtuvo sus escrituras y pudo finalmente vender.

California es el nuevo dueño
de Costa Azul Adventure Resort, quien le ha dado un giro total, aquí los
turistas se hospedan y pueden permanecer en el 24 horas sin salir si así lo
desean, pero son fuertemente motivados a explorar y conocer mas a fondo otros
pueblos y playas. Costa Azul emplea actualmente un promedio de cincuenta
personas, es el único lugar en el área que cuenta con una celebración
de fiesta mexicana que cada viernes a las 7.00.p.m. empiezan las festividades
de música y color. Ofrece
además un amplio repertorio de recorridos
turísticos que van desde paseos a caballo hasta viajes en lancha.
Costa azul es el destino turístico favorito de muchos.
Después de finalmente vender Costa Azul, era tiempo de crear algo
nuevo y en 1994 Don Miguel Becerra Inició la construcción de
Villas Paradise. Su nuevo proyecto contaría con construcciones moriscas,
un total de 10 habitaciones terminando con el impresionante pent house o
Taj Mahal al cual le dedicare la parte 3 de esta serie.
