Some of the reasons La Cruz has become a better place
to live and visit.
After being away from La Cruz the whole summer, I
am finally back, and happy to be here for a number
of reasons,
First of all, Laura del Valle at her beautiful center
Mar de Jade ( www.mardejade.com )
at Chacala (40 minutes drive) offered their December
Zen retreat, it is becoming a tradition among Laura´s
many guests and friends, including a number of Vallarta
residents, and people from all over Mexico, US and
Canada. A great way to start the season!
Another pleasant thing was that we got new neighbors,
the friendly + talented Andrea and Latcho, the Gitans
Blonds, ( www.latchoandrea.com )
moved to the house next door and It has been a pleasure
listening to their rehearsals. Their ever growing public,
includes Villa Bella guests, that are absolutely happy
that the town of La Cruz scored another 10, in the
list of exciting things to do in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle,
they are turning crowds crazy every Wednsday at Papasitos.
The people at Philo's
have been also working harder than ever, with the Friendship
Club of La Cruz, that have embarked in the very needed
task of creating a Community Center. You can´t
miss their upcoming Mexican Fiesta Benefit, on the
30 th of January, there are still some tickets available.
Also on Feb 3 rd they will hold their Second Annual
Auction to raise funds for Bubba and the Bottom Feeders
and The Friendship Club of La Cruz. Every Wednsday
the Speakers Program at 7:00pm.
I have also heard great comments
about food at Lori's
Kitchen, our guests simply fall in love the delicious
food and the great service by always friendly and good
humored Russell. As well as the delicious food from
mexican-owned La Glorieta and of course, all the Taco
Stands.
Hikuri ( www.hikuri.com )
welcomed the season with their Huichol Art Gallery,
the incredible Huichol design T-Shirts, and yarn paintings,
have become our guest's favorite souvenirs, and
their El Jardín del Pulpo restaurant, giving
us the blessing of a good Capuccino Coffee here in
town!
And of course at Villa
Bella everything
is going well and everyone is happy, despite the crazy
rains, the sewage works, and all the rest!, planning
ahead for the future, and wishing to all of you that
make this town so special the best for 2004!
