Hola! Here we are again. This time
we'll talk about what has happened in San Pancho this
last year and what the government and our local authorities
did (and plan to do) for the town's well being.
As you probably have heard, San
Pancho is a very quiet town. We don't have much in
the way of robberies or crime (even though we appreciate
having our police available just in case). Beside the
police, we have Francisco Castellon. Francisco is our
mayor and our maximum authority figure.
 What does a mayor do in San Pancho? The mayor has
the responsibility to assist the people of the town
such as settling minor domestic issues and promoting
projects that benefit the town - such as shows for
our entertainment or having something fixed that needs
fixing. It is the opinion of these writers that Francisco
Castellon is doing a fine job of being our mayor!!

Some of the projects that
took place in San Pancho in the last months (in coordination
with the government) were the cleaning, leveling
and widening of the roads that are not cobblestone.
Those of us who live here greatly appreciate the
work! Lights were installed all around the hospital
that we did not have before. A small garden was planted
on main street a block from the beach. The buganvillias
are blooming and so are the hibiscus. it looks great!! The bridge at the entrance
of the town had new railings put in and new lights.
It looks beautiful at night. Electricity, water and
sewage are being brought in to the neighborhood behind
the hospital. The church façade was finished
along with the patio out front and they came out beautiful.
Another project that is pretty much complete (and is
so important) is the Senior citizen center. In the
back of the park they built a home for socializing
and attending to the basic needs to our seniors. Congratulations!
The house is now being painted and a new garden is
being put in along with a retaining wall for protection
from the coming rainy season
 This year was the first year in a long time that the
pick-up garbage service did not fail us on Easter.
Usually they are so busy before they reach San Pancho
that we wound up with no service at all. But this year
they were there - not only every other day as usual
- but EVERY day!! They gave us excellent service! Good
job!!! Our regular pick-up service is free three days
a week, and we must say has been good lately. Talking
about improving the town and providing sources of entertainment,
the town committee shares that responsibility as well
and this Easter they organized a volleyball tournament
along with live music on the beach. It was soooo much
fun!! The town folks enjoyed it as much as the tourists!
There were no incidents at the beach as the Navy provided
lifeguards. We witnessed two marines pull two children
out of the water when the waves got big all of a sudden.
Fortunately, everything went well. San Pancho is visited
mostly by national tourism during Easter.
What are the plans for San Pancho as far as government
input in a near future?
The remodel of the park and
plaza are coming as well as a program to fix the
facades of the buildings on the main street. Both
of these projects have taken place in other towns
already and they look great! This will give San Pancho
more of the look it deserves. In San Pancho you can
be at harmony with the good economy (due to the planning & development of the area)
and the beauty of San Pancho itself. On Saturday, April
the 24 th , a performance took place at the plaza.
We were treated to "Jesus Christ - Superstar" with
more than 50 actors and dancers! The Department Of
Education And Culture of the county brings shows like
this from time to time to our pueblo! It was a GREAT
performance and was enjoyed by all!!

Aquí estamos de nuevo, esta vez haremos un
breve resumen de lo que ha pasado en San Pancho en
los últimos meses, así como lo que
hace el gobierno y demás autoridades locales
por el bienestar de nuestra comunidad.
San Pancho es considerado
un pueblo pacifico sin el menor problema en cuanto
a robos y crímenes,
aun así nos gusta contar con un cuerpo de
policía que brinde protección en caso
de ser necesario, además de ello contamos
con el juez auxiliar que es el Sr. Francisco Castellón,
quien es nuestra máxima autoridad.
¿Cual es la labor del Juez? Este es encargado
de la armonía y bienestar del pueblo, su participación
consiste desde asuntos de índole domestico,
hasta involucrarse en proyectos que beneficien a
los ciudadanos tanto en obras como entretenimiento.
 Algunos de los proyectos
que se llevaron a cabo en el ultimo año en coordinación pueblo
y gobierno municipal, fueron la limpieza emparejada
y la ampliación de la mayoría de las
calles y caminos que no están empedrados.
Para los que vivimos en San Pancho esto es enormemente
valorado. También se instalo el alumbrado
alrededor del Hospital Escuela Dr. Reynaldo Saucedo
y Andrade ya que no contaba con alumbrado público.
Un pequeño jardín fue plantado en la
calle principal a una cuadra de la playa, ya las
buganvillas están floreando al igual que los
obeliscos y le dan un toque muy bonito a la avenida
principal.
El puente de San Pancho
cuenta con una pequeña
remodelación y luces que adornan la entrada
de manera muy peculiar. En los últimos dos
meses las banquetas del pueblo están siendo
reemplazadas ya que estaban en muy mal estado. El
drenaje de agua y electricidad están siendo
instalados en la colonia detrás del hospital
también en un esfuerzo conjunto entre pueblo
y gobierno. La fachada y patio de la iglesia están
terminados y luce muy bonita.
Otro proyecto que tiene
un gran significado humano es la construcción de la casa para las personas
de la tercera edad, en una área del parque
la hermandad, esto gracias a la preocupación
de algunas personas de la comunidad y al apoyo del
gobierno. San Pancho cuenta con un espacio de reunión
y ahí se atienden las necesidades básicas
de nuestros ancianos. En estas fechas la casa se
esta pintando, se le esta poniendo un jardín
y un muro de contención para que no le afecten
las lluvias.
Este año fue el primero en muchos que no
se suspendió el servicio de recolección
de basura, día a día el camión
paso dando un servicio excelente !bravo!, vamos progresando.
San Pancho cuenta con servicio de recolección
de basura gratuito tres días a la semana de
parte del municipio.
Cambiando un poco de tema
el comité de acción
ciudadana es también encargado de buscar fondos
para desarrollar diferentes eventos de entretenimiento
y bienestar común, esta semana santa el comité organizo
un torneo de bolleyball en la playa en el cual participaron
equipos de varios pueblos y visitantes, hubo música
viva se puso en la playa un tapanco y no falto quien
bailara y cantara junto con los turistas que disfrutaron
de nuestras playas. No hubo ningún incidente
en el mar, la marina estuvo con un equipo de salvavidas,
fui testigo de cuando un par de niños fueron
rescatados por dos marinos cuando subió la
marea. Afortunadamente todo estuvo muy bien, la semana
santa es una época en donde el pueblo es visitado
principalmente por turismo nacional.
¿Cuales son los planes para San Pancho de
parte del gobierno en un futuro próximo? De
acuerdo a fuentes municipales, la remodelación
del parque y la plaza de San Pancho están
en planes muy próximos, ya el mismo proyecto
se ha realizado en Sayulita y quedo muy bien, este
será una de las cosas que sin duda le dará a
San Pancho un toque muy a su altura.
Un programa de reparación y pintura de fachadas
de casas que aplicara solo en la avenida principal
y tendrá lugar en los próximos meses.
En San Pancho se respira un ambiente agradable, la
economía del pueblo ha mejorado bastante debido
al desarrollo turístico de la zona, y obviamente
la belleza del lugar. Este sábado 24 de abril
estamos contando los días ya que el departamento
de educación y cultura del municipio traerá hasta
nuestras puertas la obra Jesucristo Superestrella
con mas de cincuentas actores y bailarines en escena,
sin duda será todo un evento.
