San Pancho Restaurants

More about restaurants in San Pancho
By Elvia & Geno Lamphiear

A few months ago we talked about some of the restaurants in San Pancho and we mentioned that we have a great variety of places to eat. Now we don't want to make you hungry, but you are about to hear about four more wonderful places in which to dine.

Los Arcos RestaurantLos Arcos Restaurant (a San Pancho tradition]

Owners Dar Peters & Angela Lopez. Dar is originally from Leucadia, California and Angela is from Jala, Nayarit. They discovered San Pancho in 1986 and four years later they started their impeccable restaurant, Los Arcos. Though it was the first "gringo restaurant" in San Pancho, they always maintained a wonderful menu with good prices. At Los Arcos they serve breakfast, burritos, steak, seafood as well as Mexican food.

Los Arcos is located on the main street of San Pancho just a few steps from the beach. With a casual ambience, Los Arcos is a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal. Dar and his wife personally, along with their many investor friends, have supported the town in several projects such as the walls for the kinder garden and cleaning of the parks. They are always open to support any good cause. Unfortunately, we were just informed that Los Arcos is up for sale (as well as their house). We wish any new owners well in living up to the reputation Dar & Angela have made. We are going to miss them at Los Arcos, but we hope they will still hang out in San Pancho for a while longer. Dar is, without a doubt, an unforgettable character in San Pancho. Good luck amigos!

Gallolly Pizeria (a place with heart]

Gallolly PizeriaManuel Landa (better known as Gallo) opened this cute restaurant two years ago (thank you Gallo). The crispy thin European style pizzas are the best in the area. but pizzas are not the only item you can enjoy here. The grilled filet of steak wrapped in bacon is excellent, the shrimp is delicious, as well as the salads & chicken and his most recent addition, ostrich. While you are there try the homemade desserts (you will be wanting more). This rustic, gorgeous place is built with all natural materials. Being surrounded by the aroma of regional and exotic plants of the garden one can't help but feel relaxed.

Gallolly Pizzeria is a great place for a romantic dinner for two - or with your family &/or friends. Visit Gallolly Pizzeria once & you will fall in love with it. Gallo personally goes from table to table and is a great host. Chances are that you will be treated to hear Gallo play one of his many guitars or the flute. Not only does he make a mean pizza, he is quite a musician as well!

Café Del Mar (a dining experience)

Cafe del MarAmandine is the beautiful owner of Café del Mar and she hails from France. At her restaurant she offers a wide selection of exquisite tropical food from around the world. Café del Mar exists in a very simple, but elegant setting. The atmosphere and music will transfer you to another dimension. In Café del Mar we have the privilege to enjoy intimate shows such as flamenco dancing, contemporary dance, reggae music and jazz. You can see the exhibits of many of our local artists on display at Café del Mar.

From the menu, try the pasta with Asian herbs - or if you are a fish lover, try the grilled tuna. It is all so good!!

Sandra's Restaurant (a bohemian corner]

Sandra's ResturantAlberto (Beto) Gonzales y Sandra Castellanos arrived in San Pancho about twenty years ago and got caught up in the web of San Pancho's magic (making it impossible for them to leave). Sandra is from Veracruz and Beto is from Mexico City. They finished raising their children here and now they even have grandkids. To have a restaurant was their dream for many years and it finally materialized four years ago.

Every restaurant does have it's own charm. When you arrive at Sandra's and you start walking down the stairs, you'll look around while you try to decide where to sit. Maybe in one of the softly lighted private, palapa covered terraces or perhaps all the way down in the main part of the restaurant by the bar. Sandra cooks every single meal that goes out of the kitchen and adds to the food her own personal touch. Beto is a guitar player/singer and loves to entertain their clients.

We do have a lot of options here in San Pancho. All the owners of these restaurants are from other areas of Mexico or even other countries they brought with them, their culture and their experienced to treat us with their delicious food and are involved in the process of the food on a daily basis.

Come and dine in San Pancho and meet all of the talented owners!

Thank you all for the good, good food!!!
