San Pancho – May 2007

Earth Day this year fell on Sunday, April 22nd, 2007.

On Saturday, April 21st, 2007, in celebration of Earth Day, Nicole Swedlow of entreamigos, Frank Smith of Groupo Ecologico along with Elvia & Kristal of Calandria Realty rounded up approximately 50 children and 20 adults to lead a major clean-up of trash that targeted the river, estuary, streets, empty lots and the beautiful beach of San Pancho!

Over three truckloads of garbage was collected that day including old discarded mattresses and appliances!!

This major assault by this team of hardy volunteers started at approximately 9:30 am and lasted for over two solid hours!  Afterwards, there were refreshments, raffles and activities for the children to celebrate and to learn more about Earth Day.

This group worked hard and deserve so much more than just a pat on the back and a round of applause!!  Please feel free to write a few kind words and show your support by emailing the leaders.  They will in turn pass your comments on to the rest of the volunteers.

The pace in San Pancho is slowing down to its normal routine after the Easter Holiday. 
It remains a beautiful, little pueblo in which to live…
