The San Pancho Music Festival is now under NEW management!!!
National recording artist Craig (Shoe) Schumacher has taken over the reins of organizing the San Pancho Music Festival 2008 – and he himself I would most definitely classify as another one of San Pancho’s colourful, unforgettable characters...
Shoe and his MUCH better half, Fabby, (just kidding Shoe…??) have been living in San Pancho for several years now. Fabby is originally from France and arrived in San Pancho prior to Shoe coming on to the scene. Fabby writes songs, records, plays guitar and sings wonderfully – as does Shoe! Shoe is from Minneapolis and has had his fingers in several recording and film projects. They make a great couple and are presently building their own home in San Pancho!
Shoe, usually sporting a “wild Art Garfunkel hairdo” & “Don Johnson stubble” (and smoking his favourite brand of cigarettes, American Spirit) can be regularly seen enjoying a leisurely stroll along the beach with his beautiful (& rather LARGE) golden lab, Clark.
Shoe possesses a great sense of dry humour that can leave one befuddled at times… - so be forewarned!!
Shoe has written and recorded several CD’s of his own original music featuring a variety of tasteful styles. For more information, please visit his website at www.shoetunes.com
Started in 2001, The San Pancho Music Festival began with 12 performers (one day only).
This year The San Pancho Music Festival 2008 started on February 28th and runs through Sunday, March 2nd, 2008 (four days)! The festival this year is located at the Plaza del Sol in San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, Mexico.

Many of you have seen these great buildings as you drive into San Pancho.
The large warehouse buildings near the entrance of San Pancho were once home to factories for about ten years where they produced milk products, jams, fruit preserves, wooden boxes and more. The buildings were built in the 1970´s when the then President Luis Echeverria was in love with San Pancho… - but they have mostly been sitting empty and in disrepair…
Recently, several people became interested in breathing new life into these vacant warehouses. For the last few years these bodegas have been used as a dried fruit factory, lumberyard, headquarters for ecological groups and others. As the use of the buildings progresses and grows, different ideas come to mind on what this place could be. The potential is staggering! What has started as an idea has been shaping little by little as more and more people are becoming involved in this incredible project.
These Federal buildings are under the Jurisdiccion of the Secretaria de Desarrollo Economico del Estado de Nayarit (The Economical Development Bureau of the State of Nayarit).
Erick Saracho of Alianza Jaguar - along with the founding parents of Escuela del Mundo; - Nicole Swedlow of Entre Amigos; - and Ariel Sainz of Colectivo San Pancho (to mention a few) have been working for a while with the authorities in turning these great buildings into a Community Center of Art, Culture & Tradition - and things are progressing quite well!
For all of you that have seen San Pancho change in the last five years, will agree with us that San Pancho is growing in a very unique way and what is happening here as far as education, preservation, culture and art is wonderful! We live in a great place in a great time!!
San Pancho is without a doubt reaching the ex-presidents dream to make San Pancho the model community of the Latin American countries.
We will keep you posted as the San Pancho Culture, Art & Tradition Center grows & develops!. Email to a friend
VIVA SAN PANCHO!!!
Until next time,
