San Pancho News

As we always say, a lot of great things are happening here in San Pancho! We would like to share some of these latest events with you…
Jordi and July Ferrara moved to San Pancho a few months ago from Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico - and they love it here in San Pancho so much that they are planning to stay for a long, long time!
July works as; a Spanish teacher; part-time at the “Entre Amigos” community center in the scholarship program; - as well as being a full-time mother of two beautiful children, Kaury, a boy of 11 months and Ailen, a five year old girl.
Jordi works in the real estate industry as his main job, but he loves working with kids and the community every chance he gets.
Together, this husband and wife team have put together a “traveling show” that has already become a BIG hit among several schools here in San Pancho, as well as neighboring Sayulita and Lo de Marcos. It is a puppet show for kindergarten and elementary school-age kids called “TRASH STORIES”. This is a show that aims to raise knowledge and awareness about the environment in our children - and the importance of recycling. The puppets have fun and interesting dialogues about garbage and what can be done with it in order to reuse, reduce and recycle. The show interacts with a three to five minute movie to help keep the children interested. This puppet show is supported by the Escuela del Mundo, the “Entre Amigos” Community center and the CCC colective center of creation, whose shared offices are located in the bodegas (close to the entrance of San Pancho). The show has been eagerly accepted by the kids and teachers alike. What a great way to teach children in a way that they can identify with themselves!! If anyone is interested in seeing “TRASH STORIES” – or have this “traveling show” come and perform for them, please contact Jordi at (311) 258-4285.
The program “Recycle San Pancho” of the community center Entre Amigos is now up & running - and you can see people from every corner of the community bringing their refuse, tin cans, glass, cardboard and many other materials that are now being recycled and turned into once again useful products. When you next visit San Pancho, please take the time and stop by at the “Entre Amigos” community center store and check out the recycled drinking glasses, as well as the many other items that have been transformed from ordinary “garbage” into treasures !
Some of the spaces of the bodegas at the entrance to town are now being used as warehouses to store all of the materials to be recycled before they are transported to their final destination. These bodegas are finally starting to be used after a long, long time of just sitting there. We will definitively keep you informed as new things progress at the bodegas.
We must say that we are very happy to see these type of projects happening in our beloved San Pancho, and we look forward to seeing many more wonderful projects such as these to take place in the future!. Email to a friend
Until next time,
