Crearte In La Cruz de Huanacaxtle – Interview with Florelisa
• What is Crearte?
Crearte in Spanish means “create yourself”. Crearte presents itself as a choice to learn and exercise artistic abilities that on time will translate in a better understanding and enjoyment of life, a better grasp of the now, a better knowledge of the country and the times we are living.
One of Crearte´s goals is to raise consciousness through art, and to achieve a better understanding of the place we live through cultural education, another is to enrich the person’s life helping him/her to become more sensitive and open to his inner feelings and environment. We believe that education, culture and art are the tools that introduce us to new and unexplored worlds, -inhabited by few lucky ones-; that art and culture give people satisfactions that are far above the expectations imposed on us by the media and the established educative systems.
At Crearte we are in love with past times, with “old fashion” education, back when arts and crafts were taught at school, when children and youngsters were taught to embroider and make their own cloths and linens, carpentry, handcrafts, to cook from scratch the every day meals, when people had beautiful handwriting, back when every household was the center of production of every good necessary to have a nice life filled with simple blessings.
But we are not trapped in the “old times were better”, we admire and appreciate new technologies, we believe Internet is a wonderful tool that shortens the distances, brings people closer, and gives people the access to useful information, we are also very interested in the actual tendency of the world toward spiritual openness, and consider ourselves very fortunate to live in this times and to be able to mix the best of both worlds to present the public an option to enrich their life through art and culture.
• Why create CREARTE in the middle of this critical times?
CREARTE is a childhood dream, that somehow is building itself in the middle of these difficult times, it is a dream that is becoming something very concrete, it is my own personal project, my late dad was an architecture teacher for over 30 years, my mom had a kindergarten and was a literature teacher at public schools, my aunt is Professor Socorro, whom I had never had contact before until last Christmas, so it doesn’t comes as a surprise, it is a project that I dedicate to all those that have an artistic soul and that for some reason decided to follow the rules dictated by the “outer chattering” the social traps of “success” and “power” ,the never ending circle of expectations that are never fulfilled.
Crearte intends to be a network of interesting people, a concept that is taking shape in the middle of difficulties, as I am aware that life is made of ups and downs, lows and highs, you will find us working in the paradise we chose to live at to offer our services to people convinced that art needs to be a part of their lives, since it will give them knowledge, freedom, and joy. I am sure that Crearte will become a meeting point of soul mates, readers and art lovers, beauty and culture lovers, and although for reasons beyond our control it happens that tourist poles are limited to “sun and beach” concept I know that we can offer more than that, and that there is a public eager of spiritual nourishment that provides wonderful music, a good book, a concert, a painting, and learning about the place he/she is at no matter if he/she was born here, emigrated, or is only visiting.
• How many people are part f the Project and what are their responsibilities?
Several art professionals form part of CREARTE, as I said the project is a network. The starting point, the art summer course, was planned by Professor Socorro Sanchez, who has over 50 years of experience starting and operating schools of artistic education in Mexico, the execution will be on the hands of Florelisa, Art Restorer, Artistic Education teacher, that after a successful career in PV and Banderas Bay on translation, writing, marketing and sales, pays attention to her inner call and devotes herself to CREARTE sharing her talents and knowledge of the country of Mexico, painting techniques, as well as her expertise in subjects like Cultural Tourism, and Art Restoration.
The REIKI part is a spiritual subject that Florelisa found helpful when she had to face the death ofloved ones, it has helped her to improve her understanding of GOD,either called Jesus, Buda, Nature, from there her interest to offer it as a choice of self knowledge and learning.
Another part of the Project is the Cultural Tourism, Florelisa is in charge of this, as she believes knowledge is a tool of richness and it is so fulfilling to know more about the place we live at. She has a network with recognized professionals from other parts of Mexico, that include Art Historians, Archaeologists, Historians, that share her passion, also, she has studied and written articles that have been published since 2000 in local media about local history, festivities, useful information for all those who are hungry of learning more about the wonderful history and traditions of Mexico.
