Bella B&B Inn
The visionary man behind it

When
Guillermo was a kid he wanted to fly airplanes, and
race cars, he wanted desperately to be a pilot.
What makes a successful pilot? Lots
of study and one particular skill called VISION, well,
Guillermo did not run the Grand Prix, but as of vision,
he has plenty of it!
Born and raised in Mexico City, he
was never a straight A+ student, too curious and restless
and also a very talented kid, he had a particular love
for music, and he got very good at piano and guitar,
with his brother and friends, formed a group and even
did some tours. When the family home became too boring,
Guillermo took off and would always be traveling, back
then he had a blue knapsack that became his best friend,
he ventured into the whole country until it was not
big enough, in the summer of 1980 he took off to Europe,
traveled for a while and ended up in the Swiss Hotelier
School, where he discovered his true passion.
Since he was a teen he always felt
fascinated by service and the entire glamour hotels
offer, and while studying did different jobs in some
of the best hotels of Mexico City and in Puerto Vallarta
during school breaks.
While in Europe he took several jobs,
mainly in the food and beverage area, he discovered
the rush and adrenaline true good hoteliers are so fond
to, back then it was also very common to find him entertaining
guests at the piano, when the pianist did not show up.
After few years he returned to Mexico and rendered his
services in very prestigious hotels, one of those jobs
took him to the Asian North Pacific Islands where he
spent over 3 years.
Finally in Mexico again, he was invited to work in his
beloved Puerto Vallarta, he came here for the opening
of the Conrad Hilton, 11 years ago (nowadays the Westin),
later he was responsible of the successful openings
of Paraiso Radisson (nowadays Occidental) and the Sierra
Radisson Plaza, both in Nuevo Vallarta, back when Nuevo
was a nothing more than a beautiful unexplored beach
paradise. And ever since he has not left, on the contrary,
while living in La Marina he spent some time traveling
by boat, finding new places and beach paradises, until
one day he came across the sleepy fishing village of
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, and feel completely in love
with it, I guess he envisioned it like it is now, or
like it will be in the next five years, except that
back then there were maybe a couple of streets and a
very beaten pier.
All that has changed, and La Cruz
has become an upper scale town, thanks to people like
Guillermo who envisioned all its potential. In 1998
he started his successful business: Villa Bella Bed
and Breakfast Inn, a beautiful property that he personally
designed and decorated with arts and crafts from all
over Mexico.
Amazing premises, a breathtaking
view, and unique Mexican décor, make Villa Bella
La Cruz most precious gem. Little by little the charming
Inn got very well known, and has become a must-go. Scores
of visitors from all over the world are Villa Bella
repeats. The formula: Guillermo’s expertise +
a superb guest service by Elsa, a very talented host
and Guillermo’s wife.
If one morning you find yourself
in La Cruz, stop by at Villa Bella for a nice cup of
coffee and Elsa’s famous delicious & nutritious
breakfast!, after talking to her and enjoying her delicious
breakfast while gazing at the endless horizon of the
ocean and the mountains, you might discover why Villa
Bella’s guests never want to leave.
