Puerto Vallarta Blue Agave Golf Classic - Volunteers Needed

The first annual Puerto Vallarta Classic professional golf tournament will be held on the Nicklaus golf course at Vista Vallarta from March 27 to April 2, 2006. This Champions Tour event will bring the most famous names in golf for what could become an annual event if the volunteers are able to make it a success.
Why be a volunteer!
It will take more than 300 volunteers to make this event successful, and to that end the sponsors will donate $50,000.00 USD to Vallarta based charities. Additionally, if we are successful, this event will become an annual affair with more money for charities each year.
Each volunteer is required to pay an entry fee of $75.00 for which he receives a package of gifts valued at more than $750.00. The package includes two transferable or saleable passes to play the championship courses at Vista or Marina (some restrictions apply, these passes are valued at $320.00. Additionally each volunteer receives 3 “Puerto Vallarta Classic Champions Tour Logo golf shirts, two logo hats, tournament passes for your friends or family to attend the Classic event; up to a 50% discount at a selection of Vallarta restaurants during the event; free continental breakfast and lunch daily; and an invitation for you and your spouse at attend the gala celebration at the close of the championships.
What does is take to be a volunteer?
You do not need to be a golfer to volunteer. There are many positions that do not require you to know the game, only be there to help. There are jobs for those that are more sedentary and others for us that like to get out and walk. The work day is only 4 to 5 hours depending on your choice of jobs, and all the time you’re working you will be able to watch the greatest names in golf compete for $1,400,000.00 in prizes.
Training days will be set up the week of the event to familiarize you with your job. Local volunteers will be asked to attend a training session on Sunday or Monday March 27 or 28, volunteers from out of the area will be able to get “on the job” training Wednesday or Thursday March 29 or 30 during the Pro Am Event.
How do I become a volunteer?
Please go to our Webb site: www.vistavallartagolf.com, click on the “Volunteer” link and fill out the application. You will be able to select the job you want from a list of 19 different positions with a full description of each one. You will also be able to order your shirt size, and let us know your physical capabilities and golf knowledge, if any.
