Hola to my favorite city!
We will be in PV this winter again
for a few months and wonder if anyone knows if the movie
"Puerto Vallarta Squeeze" will be showing
at any time Jan-April? I don't know if it has been released
in the US yet.
I miss Anna Reisman's column and
also new letters in the Letters to the Editor column...
I read the PV Mirror all the time while there and on
the internet at home...
It would be good if there could be more local news available
to us long time visitors.
Looking forward to being down there
soon.
Therese from Michigan
Dear Therese,
We have no idea when the movie will be released –
or where - as no one seems to have any concrete information
to give us.
Why don’t you e-mail Anna
directly and tell her that you miss her articles?
Regarding the Letters to the Editor, we only print what
we receive. Sorry.
And as far as local news are concerned, most deal with
the upcoming change in the local government, accusations
and counter-accusations, as is so common around the
world whenever a new party is about to take over. As
we do not feel that reporting such matters is of any
consequence to our foreign readers, we have very little
else to report.
On the other hand, there are
news in other sections such as restaurants, art &
culture, that may be of interest. Why not check out
those sections?
The Ed.
Dear Editor,
Can you please answer the following
questions:
- Is there a Christmas Eve Mass or celebration at the
Cathedral?
- Will it be hard to get a taxi cab back to Nuevo Vallarta
after Christmas Eve mass?
- Is there one place where I can get a list of what
different restaurants are doing on New Year's Eve?
Thank you for your help!
I've spent hours searching the web without getting answers.
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
To answer your questions in order:
Yes, a beautiful Mass is celebrated at the Church of
Our Lady of Guadalupe on Christmas Eve each year. Yes,
it will be extremely hard to get a taxi cab ride back
to Nuevo Vallarta afterwards. Perhaps you could make
an arrangement with the driver who brings you in to
Vallarta.
Lastly, although there is no
one particular site that lists the events scheduled
at the various restaurants for New Year’s Eve,
we promise that we will publish every notice we receive
from them.
The Ed.
Dear Editor,
As a resident here in PV, I enjoy
walking along the Malecon as often as I can. The sculptures
and entertainment available are next to none. Nightime
is especially beautiful.
I wonder why there are no flood lights
or lights of any kind to illuminate Los Arcos - the
arches - and the Millennium sculpture... It is such
a shame at night to see these beautiful works of art
recede in the shadows. Any answers?
