Dear Professor Cupul,
I just came across an article you wrote
in Sepember of 2002 about the restoration of the estuary.
My wife and I will be in Mexico from December 11 -
January 3, and most of that time will be in or near
Jalisco. I'd love to get together with you if that's
possible.
I'm Storm Cunningham, author of The Restoration
Economy (Berrett-Koehler, November 2002). The Restoration
Economy is the first book to document the fast-growing,
trillion-dollar-per-year global economic sector known
as restorative development. This includes eight sectors:
Restoration of ecosystems, watersheds, fisheries, agricultural
lands, brownfields (contaminated lands), infrastructure,
heritage, and disasters/wars.
Your article
ended with "I hope
that the actual designation of the estuary as "Environmental
Administration Unit No. 36" with a policy of conservation
and a predominant use of flora and fauna of high environmental
fragility (protected natural area), as well as the
application of its corresponding management plan, will
finally achieve its restoration, conservation and understanding
for the enjoyment of all those who appreciate the natural
environment." I'd love to find out if anything
has actualy happened.
You can read the entire Preface, Introduction,
and Table of Contents of my book at www.restorationeconomy.com,
and it's available through Amazon.com or any quality
bookstore.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.

Thank you for your letter.
I think it would be a good idea meet
in Vallarta.
At this moment, the Salado estuary
is protectected by the government. I and others are
doing the scientific work for the proteccion of estuary.
Today we are working on the restoration of the mangroves
and other research on birds, reptiles and crabs.
I think will be interesting talk
to you about your experience in restoration.
