Hello Anna.
I have lost a clipping from the newspaper
that announced a bus trip to Guadalajara. Leaving PV
around midnight on Fridays, arriving in Guadalajara
early Saturday allowing passengers to spend the day
at markets in the city. The bus returns later that day.
Can you tell me the specifics please.
I think many people would be interested in this trip
including myself.
Thank you,
Judi
Dear Judi,
I’m sorry to admit that
I don’t know where you saw the ad. I’m not
sure who organizes those land tours to GDL, but I suggest
you do a little internet research, check out Harris
Tours and Vallarta Adventure and then go on from there.
Anna
Dear Editor:
Does Puerto Vallarta (or environs)
hold charreadas, and if so, when and where?
Thank you.
Katie McNally of San Diego
Dear Katie,
Yes, there are charreadas, charros
and all aspects of charreria in Puerto Vallarta, the
biggest of which are held in September, though there
are other smaller events in the springtime as well.

To the Editor,
I read with interest Jesus de Avila's
comments on the reasonable prices at Café des
Artistes. However, had he used his ofertasvallarta.com
coupon, he would have saved an extra 20% on his bill.
And if he had made his reservation on their website,
every member of his party would also have received a
FREE glass of wine.
Now how's that for excellent savings?
So, remember to use your ofertasvallarta.com
coupons to enjoy the very best for less!
Sincerely,
Lyn
Dear Editor,
Can someone please let me know what
English language TV is available in PV-- how many stations
are there (approximately, if there are a lot), and what
is the programming like?
(I'm looking for lodging when I visit,
and I will be sightseeing, but my spouse watches TV
a lot. I'm not sure what hotel and condo ads and sites
mean when they say "cable TV.")
Thanks for your time.
K. M.
Dear K. M.,
The local cable provider (Telecable)
here in Puerto Vallarta offers approximately 65 channels
of which at least a dozen are in English only, and many
of the programs on the other channels are in English
as well, with Spanish sub-titles.
There are sports channels, TBS,
WGN, Discovery, Hallmark, E!, movie channels, and the
Sony channel has picked up some of the most popular
network programs such as CSI, Law & Order, etc.
The Ed.
Dear Editor,
I found it interesting that 'Brazilian
Night' was held at a French restaurant - but then I
read Anna's column about the attitude of the waiters
at Brazil Steak House and I understood the decision.
Unbelievable!!
Isn't it too bad they don't know
how to treat people (let alone tourists)?
Who do they think their customers are?
M. M.
Dear M. M.,
The timing of the two items is
simply coincidental as they are totally unrelated. Sr.
Cadena had been planning his “Brazilian Night”
well before the incident at Brasil Steak House in Paradise
Plaza.
The Ed.
