November 10, 2002.
Thanks to PVMirror.com Thank
you for the photos of the industrious Puerto Vallarta Staff. Every time I have
visited I have appreciated the hard working people that make PV work. This is
proof, the hurricane comes through, they go to work. I love the waving pictures
of the staffs ready to serve us. Thank you for the preview of one of our favorite
spots to visit. My family will be there the 23rd through 12/1/02. I am glad to
see the quick recovery, but I have watched the people of PV always do their best.
Again thank you for the photos. Scott Bailey
Hello
to all: The PV Mirror is
absolutely outstanding. My husband and I are traveling to PV on the 9th of November
and can now rest easy and feel the excitement of our upcoming trip! I am so pleased
to hear that no lives were lost to Hurricane Kenna and that PV is thriving once
again. It has been three years since our last visit and really look forward to
seeing everything again! Regards, B & G Clarke Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada
Great information: My
wife and I have been to PV 15 times and want to thank you for the great pictures
after the storm. We changed our reservations from Thanksgiving to New Years. I
would like to buy you a drink if possible. Thanks for the update. We stay at the
Tropicana from Dec. 26 to Jan 12th, Thanks Steve Mathews,
Boeing Company
Excellent Coverage: Thank
you PVMirror for the excellent coverage of the storm
and cleanup. Your site was the only place on the entire Internet where we could
find current and updated information following the storm. The photograph section
by Sr. Avila was fantastic! It conveyed much more information than simple words
could express since as they say "a picture speaks a thousand words".
There was even a photo which included the adirondack beach chairs that we plant
ourselves on for a week at a time when we come to visit paradise. It was very
reassuring to see that our many friends in PV were safe and were pulling together
to help the Jewel of the Pacific back to her feet. We
can't wait for our next visit in January and if there is anything left to do please
save us a broom and a shovel!! Thanks again, Dave
and Stephanie Hammergren Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. USA.
Dear
Editor, I'd like to thank you -and the staff at the Vallarta
Tribune- for the excellent post-Kenna coverage. The old "a picture is worth
a 1,000 words" saying is oh so true. Javier Perez's photos in this week's
issue are wonderful. I've been meaning to write for a
while to say how much I enjoy the Tribune. Over the years it has grown into a
wonderful paper. The addition of many new high caliber writers this past year
is definitely welcome. While I have no interest in fishing,
I even read the fishing report! To you, the Tribune staff
and all of the volunteer writers, muchismas gracias! By
the way, I thought you might find this interesting: Canadians Ryan May and Natalie
Godin arrived in Puerto Vallarta Sunday, October 27, 2002 for a few days of well-deserved
R & R after a month-long journey bicycling from San Diego, California, to
La Paz, Baja California - 1,800 Km! They had planned to
take the ferry from La Paz to Mazatlán and then bike to Vallarta but on
arrival in Mazatlán were told the road damage from hurricane Kenna was
so severe they should bus it. Needing some rest for their knees (and likely some
other body parts) they decided to take the bus. After
10 days relaxing in Ryan's mom's condo on Los Muertos beach, they are pictured
here ready to resume their adventure. The plan: to bike south through México
to Guatemala. They expect to return to Vallarta to spend
Christmas with Colleen May and Al Williams at Condos Vista del Sol before returning
to Vancouver. ¡Vayan con Díos, Ryan and Nat! Mary

Hi, I am an
avid reader of pvmirror.com and I often see references to 'Vallarta Tribune'. I
am wondering if they are the same thing, and, if not, how can I get access to
the Vallarta Tribune, as well (I am happy to pay a subscription fee). Thanks!! Heidi Dear
Heidi, The pvmirror.com web site is totally independent of the " Vallarta
Tribune " weekly paper. The Mirror publishes the news gleaned from various
sources, including the Tribune, as well as the articles written by the contributors
who have given us authorization to put their work on line. Unfortunately,
due to the exorbitant prices charged by Mexico's Postal Service and their subsequent
poor service, we have not been able to implement a subscription service to date,
though many have requested it. I'm afraid you'll
just have to come down to Vallarta to get your hard copies, Heidi. The Ed.
Dear
Anna, I must say your information on pvmirror.com has
been phenomenal, and I can't tell you how much we have appreciated getting all
that info. The photos you directed me to of the damage
left my mouth hanging open, but it's been SO heartwarming to read of the efforts
to make our fair city beautiful again. Aren't the Mexican people awesome? I am
constantly amazed at their resiliency and ability to bounce back with a smile
on their faces! You must have been working your butt off
the last couple of weeks, and it shows! Bouquets to you, amiga. Sure wish I could
be there. S.G.
Dear
Editor, I always like to acknowledge those that are so
giving to the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza: Thanks to Dona Emma, owner
of VIVERO LA PRIMAVERA, the landscaping at Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza (RISE)
is a much prettier place for the 35 children and Madres who care for them. This
friendly nursery at 840 Francisco Villa has donated dozens of landscaping plants
from roses, hibiscus, crotons and palms. Thank you, Doña Emma, for your
loving support of the Refugio. And personally, I wish
to thank Anna for her kindness in assisting me in getting out these acknowledgements. Again,
many, many thanks, Sudy Coy Archives
