Terry Fox Annual Run This Sunday!
This year's Run on Sunday,
March 28 th , will be presided by the Ambassador
from Canada, the Honorable Gaëtan
Lavertu.
Help in the fight against cancer! This is not a competition
but an event in which you can participate with your
friends or family. There will be three points of departure
- 10, 4 and 1 km in length. You may walk, run, use
your bike or wheelchair. Participants will be entitled
to a T-shirt, participation in the raffles, and they
will receive a certificate of participation.
Inscription forms are available at Foto Marina (in
the Marina mall), Outback Restaurant, Galeria Dante
at 269 Basilio Badillo, and at the Canadian Consulate
(beside Coppell, in the Edificio Obelisco, local 108).
You can sign up until March 26 th . The Canadian Consulate
will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday this week only.
The Fair of Hope at the American School will run concurrently
on Sunday, March 28 th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There
will be shows: Kassiano, Jerome, Grupo Farra. Children's
shows: Tatiana, Divertilandia will Estrellita the clown,
Elmo, Blue, Barney, and a Deco fiesta with Pum the
clown, plus games for all the family, 12 food stands
Pepsi, Coke, Peñafiel,
Sol beer, etc.
Fun for all the family! Participate in the fight against

Luis Gerardo Meets His Hero
"Máscara Sagrada!" whispered 10-year old Luis
Gerardo, "My Hero!" Luis, an ardent admirer of Mexican
wrestler Máscara Sagrada, was granted his greatest
wish to meet him by Make a Wish Foundation, Mexico.
AT the close of the annual wrestling championship Luis
had his chance.
Moments before the encounter
a very excited Luis said, "I
am nervous but very anxious to meet him!" With his
eyes closed, Luis awaited his idol, known only from
the television screen. Mascara Sagrada swept Luis up
in a big hug. He shed tears of joy wetting the face
of his idol. Máscara Sagrada said, 'Take courage,
here I am, and happy to meet you".
Luis's depth of emotion was felt by all of the wrestler's
fans present, and they reacted with a spontaneous applause.
It is not often one is able to witness such a moment.
A lover of mathematics, Luis
commented that he had never attended a wrestling
match, much less met a wrestler. "From
now on I can count Mascara Sagrada among my friends.
It has been the happiest moment of my life," said an
awed Luis. Then Luis went to sit in the guest box and
watched his hero perform.

Nature's Dynamics 2 nd Workshop
Nature's Dynamics second workshop starts on Monday,
March 22 nd , 3 Mondays only.
Morning sessions go from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and evening
sessions from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
According to leader Maggie, "If
you can stand unaided, sit and lie down, you can
do it! There is no impact, it is easy, fun ...and
it works!"
So if you're interested in
harnessing the synergistic power of enhanced breathing
techniques combined with isometric & isotonic exercises, you and your body
will benefit immensely from this workshop, that is
if you want to increase strength, mobility, energy,
and endurance. Or if you want to reduce stress, or
weight, or if you are fed up with special diets, special
places or equipment for exercising, diet pills, potions
etc., worrying about your health, and you dislike sweaty
exercises, ongoing costs & time commitment of gyms,
classes, spas, and spending more than 15 minutes for
keeping in shape...

de Aramara (straight up from San. Javier Hospital -Calle
Maria Montessori- past the Montessori school, then
turn right into Callejon de Limon , it is the 3 rd
house on your right. The cost is only $500. pesos including
the manual.
This program can only enhance your body, and will
help you in you quest for health (but it is not intended
to replace medical consultation). So if you didn't
get a chance to take it the first time around, now
is your second chance! Go for it.

Matters Open Forum
The U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara - Consular
Affairs Official and U.S. Consular Agency of Puerto
Vallarta wish to invite the English speaking community
(residents and visitors) to an open forum with Mexican
Medical Service Providers. The event will be held on
Thursday, April 1 st , at 9:30 a.m. at the Marriott
CasaMagna Hotel, in the Salon Vallarta.
A panel of Mexican medical service providers has been
assembled to provide information as to the various
medical services in the bay. They will field questions
regarding local medical services, practices, customs,
costs and where to solicit more information.
Participants invited to provide
information are: local hospital medical & administrative
directors, Mexican Consumer Protection Agency, air
and ground ambulance companies, medical conciliation
organization, Puerto Vallarta Blood Bank, funeral
services information, Red Cross, IMSS medical programs,
and Mexican health insurance companies. Send questions
regarding medical matters by fax or e-mail to the
U.S. Consular Agency in Puerto Vallarta, no later
than 2 p.m. March 30 th , 2004.

recommended list of doctors. If you have been treated
by an English speaking medical professional who you
feel should be included on this list, please write

regarding your experience with their services. We will
contact doctors recommended and verify their interest
to be included on our list. We are also interested
in the same type of information regarding medical service
providers whom you WOULD NOT recommend.

Oil expropriation in Mexico
 After a series of unjust situations
of the transnational industries against the Mexican
oil industry workers, a transcendental and historic
decision was made in our country on March 18 th which
motivated the passing of the oil expropriation act
by the president Lázaro
Cárdenas. On the 18 th of March this event is
commemorated as an action that strengthened the nationalist
spirit of all Mexicans.

Luego de una serie de
situaciones injustas por parte de las industrias
transnacionales en contra de los trabajadores mexicanos
de la industria petrolera, el 18 de marzo de 1938
se llegó en nuestro
país a una determinación que ha sido
trascendental e histórica. Esto fue lo que
motivó el decreto del presidente Lázaro
Cárdenas de la Expropiación Petrolera.
El día 18 de marzo en México se conmemora
este hecho como una acción que fortaleció el
espíritu nacionalista de todos los mexicanos.

Birthday of Benito Juárez García
 He was the one that promulgated
those reform laws in our country that established
the separation between the rights of the State and
those of the Church and subsequently repelled a French
invasion of our country. Mister Benito Juárez García, known as, "Benemérito
de las Americas" (he who has deserved well of
the Americas) is a great example for all Mexican people.
In Mexico we commemorate the birth of this important
character in the political life of this country on
March 21 st .

en nuestro país, mediante las que se establecía
separar los derechos del Estado y de la Iglesia y
posteriormente repeler una invasión francesa
a nuestro país. Don Benito Juárez García
conocido como el "Benemérito de las Americas" es
un gran ejemplo para todos los mexicanos. El 21 de
Marzo en México conmemoramos el natalicio
de este personaje en la vida política de este
