The international airport of Puerto Vallarta received a certification of compliance with environmental regulations, which was delivered personally by the head of the Federal Environmental Protection Attorney (PROFEPA, for its Spanish initials), Jose Luis Luege Tamargo, in a ceremony attended by the Jalisco Delegate of PROFEPA, Martha Ruth de Toro Gaytan, and Puerto Vallarta Mayor, Gustavo Gonzalez Villaseñor.
Mayor Gonzalez Villaseñor addressed the audience and said that is only through education and joint support by PORPEOA that ecological awareness can be raised, as well as care for the environment that this municipality and others in the Jalisco coastal regions require. Mr. Gonzalez also said that it is imperative that everyone living here maintains a firm idea and the commitment to care for the natural environment in this and the rest of the municipalities in the state coast. He extended his congratulations to all the executives and employees of the international airport of Puerto Vallarta on obtaining this certification, as a clear example of companies that meet the current environment norms.
After the award ceremony, the signing of the inter-municipal agreement for Sea Turtle Protection, entered into by the mayors of the municipalities of Cihuatlan, La Huerta, Cabo Corrientes and Puerto Vallarta took place.

El Alcalde de Puerto Vallarta, Gustavo González Villaseñor, dijo que será, mediante la capacitación y el apoyo conjunto de la Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente -PORFEPA-, como se podrá crear la conciencia ecológica y cuidado del medio ambiente que requiere este y los municipios del litoral jalisciense. Al participar en la ceremonia de Certificación de Cumplimiento Ambiental al Aeropuerto Internacional de esta ciudad, el cual entregó personalmente el titular de la PORFEPA, José Luis Luege Tamargo, munícipe Vallartense subrayó la necesidad de cuidar, conservar y preservar el escenario majestuoso natural que tiene Puerto Vallarta y que a través de los años se ha ido deteriorando producto del desarrollo.
En presencia también de la delegada de la PROFEPA en Jalisco, Martha Ruth del Toro Gaytán, el munícipe considero indispensable que todos quienes aquí viven mantengan firme la idea y la concientización de cuidar el entorno natural con que cuenta este destino, al igual que el resto de los municipios costeros del estado.
Gonzáles Villaseñor hizo extensiva la felicitación a directivos y personal del aeropuerto internacional de Puerto Vallarta, por haber obtenido este reconocimiento como un ejemplo claro de empresas como esta que cumple con le cuidado y las normas ambientales.
Cabe mencionar que en el marco de esta ceremonia se llevó a cabo la firma del convenio intermunicipal de Concertación Para la Protección de la Tortuga Marina que suscribieron los presidentes municipales de Cihuatlán, La Huerta, Tomatlán, Cabo Corrientes y Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta mayor, Gustavo Gonzalez Visited Miami, Florida, seeking for a closer relation with authorities of the city and to bring the sisterhood process between the two cities forward.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Gloria Cordiba, and other dignitaries, the mayor kept a busy agenda. He met with Miami Mayor, Mr. Manuel (Manny) A. Diaz. Mr. Gonzalez handed Mr. Diaz a miniature of the whale sculpture and a copy of the book on the 150 Years of History of Puerto Vallarta. He also met with Broward County Commissioner, Dane Wasserman-Rubin, with whom he exchanged experiences on customs, history and culture and from whom he received the keys to the city, in turn Mayor Gonzales gave Mrs. WassermanRubin a miniature replica of the whale sculpture and a copy of 150 Years of History. Later on Monday, Mr. And Mrs. Gonzalez paid a visit to the mayor of Coral Gables , Mrs. Don Slesnick and had dinner with Pepe Lopez, who has acted as contact for the sisterhood encounters, as well as with artist Roberto J. The mayor's agenda also included meetings with Frank Ortiz, mayor of Pembroke Pines , Broward Mayoress Ilene Lieberman, and with Tere Pons and Daniel Longres, to learn about a TV show project, and Pedro Pablo Peña, Artistic Director of Miami International Ballet, who also presented the mayor with a ballet project of Puerto Vallarta .
On other matters, in a radio interview from Mexico City , Puerto Vallarta Tourist Director, briefed on the mayor's Florida tour, and the press conference he held with the attendance of over 100 media representatives from Mexico City , to promote the events to take place in Puerto Vallarta in November. He added that the mayor would be traveling to Mexico City to attend a dinner party where the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry was to reward the organizers of the Gourmet Festival, which is now compared to that of Mexico City 's Historic Center . About the press conference, Diaz Borioli said that he was joined by the directors of the different events, such as the International Film Festival, the Gourmet Festival, the Fishing Tournament.

Avanza Proceso de Hermanamiento entre Miami, Florida y Puerto Vallarta.

El presidente municipal de Puerto Vallarta, Gustavo González Villaseñor, realizó una visita de dos días a la ciudad de Miami, Florida, para tener un acercamiento y estrechar lazos con autoridades de aquel lugar, a fin de avanzar en el proceso de hermanamiento que se establecerá en breve entre ambas ciudades. En su intensa agenda de actividades que sostuvo el munícipe Vallartense en aquella ciudad norteamericana, en compañía de su esposa Gloria Córdova de González y otras personalidades locales, el lunes se entrevistó con el alcalde de Miami, el señor Manuel (Manny) A. Díaz, a quien le entrego una replica en miniatura de la ballena y el libro de los 150 años de historia de Puerto Vallarta.
También se reunió con la comisionada (concejal) del condado de Broward en Miami, Diane Wasserman-Rubin, de origen cubano, con quien intercambió experiencias sobre costumbres, historia y cultura, además de recibir las llaves de la ciudad y el primer edil le entrego a su vez una replica de la ballena y el libro de la historia del puerto.
Por la tarde del mismo lunes, González Villaseñor y su esposa visitaron al Alcalde de Coral Gables, El señor don Slesnick y por la noche cenó con el señor Pepe López, quien ha sido enlace de estos encuentros, así como con el pintor Roberto J. Valera, quien es a su vez parte fundamental del enlace entre estas dos ciudades.
El presidente municipal entregó sendos reconocimientos a ambos personajes por esta labor de acercamiento que han realizado con Puerto Vallarta, mientras que el Pintor Roberto Valera, le presento un interesante proyecto artístico y cultural para esta ciudad.
En su segundo día de actividades en Miami, la mañana de este martes el Alcalde Gustavo González fue entrevistado por periodistas, escritores y críticos del arte, entre otros por Armando Álvarez-Bravo, del Miami Herald; Lidia Sánchez-Amores, escritora de Arte para la revista Casa & Estilo Internacional, y por Jesús Hernández, del Diario de las Américas.
Así mismo su agenda contemplaba una cita con el señor Frank Ortiz, Alcalde de Pembroke Pines y con el cubano Angelo Castillo, comisionado del Condado de Broward, Ilene Lierberman, y por la noche tenía programada una cita con Tere Pons y Daniel Londres, para conocer el proyecto de un programa de televisión y con Pedro Pablo Peña, director artístico de ballet Internacional de Miami, quien también le presentó un proyecto del mismo ballet para Puerto Vallarta.
Por otra parte, en entrevista radiofónica desde la ciudad de México, el director de Turismo Mundial José Luis Díaz Borioli, informo acerca del viaje del Presidente Municipal a Miami y la que él como responsable de área de turismo sostuvo con representantes de más de cien medios de comunicación de la ciudad de México, para promocionar todos los eventos a realizarse en Puerto Vallarta durante el próximo mes de noviembre.
Agregó que el primer Edil se trasladaría este mismo día martes por la noche a la ciudad de México, para asistir la mañana del miércoles a un desayuno donde la Cámara Nacional de la Industria Restaurantera y Alimentos Condimentados -CANIRAC- entregará un reconocimiento a los organizadores del Festival Gourmet, el cual es comparado ya con lo que se ha hecho en la capital del país, para el rescate del centro histórico.
Sobre la rueda de prensa, Díaz Borioli abundó que fue organizado con el fidecomiso de Turismo con la participación de los directores de los eventos que se realizarán en esta ciudad porteña en noviembre, como es el Festival Internacional de Cine, el Festival Gourmet, el Torneo de Pesca, el Festival de Origen y el Torneo de Golf.

As part of the promotional programs of the Tourism Board of Puerto Vallarta, the calendar of events and festivals for the last quarter of 2004 was presented to over 100 media representatives in Mexico City .
In a press conference at the Mexico City Presidente Intercontinental Hotel, details of the events and festivals to take place during the month of November and December were presented by the organizers, as well as the director of the Tourism Board, Alfredo Rosas; Communication Manager Alberto Marquez and Directors of Municipal Tourism, Jose Luis Diaz Borioli.
The press conference started with the participation of Alfredo Rosas, who exhalted the virtues of Puerto Vallarta, listing the great amount of attractions and activities the city offers its visitors, which makes it not only a sun and surf destination, year round. He continued to introduce each of the organizers, as he invited them to maker their presentations. Como parte de los programas de promoción de Fideicomiso de Turismo de Puerto Vallarta, fue presentado en la ciudad de México ante mas de 100 periodistas de medios nacionales, el calendario de eventos y festivales que ofrece este destino turístico para el ultimo trimestre del año.
En conferencia de prensa realizada en el hotel Presidente Intercontinental de la Ciudad de México, se presentaron los pormenores de los eventos y festivales que durante los meses de noviembre y diciembre se llevaran a cabo y engalanarán Puerto Vallarta, a la que asistieron cada uno de sus organizadores, así como el director de Fideicomiso de Turismo, Alfredo Rosas, el gerente de comunicación Alberto Márquez y el director de Turismo Municipal José Luis Díaz Borioli.
La conferencia dio inicio con la intervención de Alfredo Rosas, director del Fideicomiso de Turismo, quien destaco las virtudes de Puerto Vallarta, enumerando la gran cantidad de atractivos y actividades que ofrece esta ciudad a todos sus visitantes, lo que convierte en un destino no únicamente de sol y playa sino en un destino completo de todo el año, asimismo presento a cada uno de los organizadores de los eventos que estaban presentes invitando a cada uno de ellos realizar su presentación, siendo la primera Maria José Zorrilla directora del Festival Internacional de Cine, quien detallo lo que será este primer año de este Festival del 6 al 14 de noviembre con la participación de grandes luminarias del cine mundial, como la familia Huston. Acto seguido el arquitecto Alfonso Gutiérrez director del Festival Internacional del Tequila, expuso el programa general de su evento que convocara a las bebidas mas importantes del mundo con denominación de Origen, a realizarse del 6 al 11 de diciembre. Por su parte Luis Angarita coordinador de la 3ra Copa Vallarta de Golf adelanto a los medios los detalles y la mecánica de teste importante evento deportivo que se llevara a cabo del 11 al 13 de noviembre en los campos Vista Club y Mayan con una gran convocatoria.

Posteriormente toco el turno a Carlos Arceo director del Medio Maratón Internacional, quien destaco los atractivos y la importancia de esta carrera que ofrece en este su segundo año tener un muy buen nivel de competencia, un espectacular escenario y grandes premios el día 7 de noviembre.
La presentación del Torneo Internacional de Pesca de Pez Vela corrió a cargo del director del Fideicomiso de Turismo, Alfredo Rosas quien expuso los detalles del evento que este año cumple 49 años y que se constituye en el de mas tradición y uno de los mas importantes a nivel nacional, con la participación de pescadores de diversas partes del mundo que vienen no únicamente a competir sino a disfrutar de las bellezas de Puerto Vallarta y de la Bahía de Banderas así como disputarse una gran bolsa de premios del 17 al 20 de noviembre.
Para concluir esta conferencia el director de Turismo Municipal, José Luis Díaz Boriolo, exhorto a los medios, a comunicar lo que ofrece Puerto Vallarta, su gente amable, su pueblo típico y sus bellezas inigualables.

Opening of "Punto de Partida" a collective exhibition by three Guadalajara artist

 After a conference on the techniques and styles in their artworks, on October 1, three Guadalajara artists donated art pieces and exhibited their works in the Peter Gray Permanent Art Gallery , at the Coastal University Center , CUC. At Gallery, at the opening of the exhibition, titled "Starting Point" Adan Medina, Aurora Diaz and Laura Garcia brought their artist proposal close to college students.
Young sculptor Adan Medina commented that his art is abstract. Abstraction, he said, creates conflicts to the artist, which has allowed him to explore a contrasting technique, such as cold and hot, by producing his works I intend to reflect feminine views, what society thinks about women and what they represent in themselves" he said. His art pieces are not taller than 20 cm. (8 inches), however, Medina expressed in each piece he tries to show a monument and to break away from academicism.
Adan Medina has had several exhibitions, among which are the collective exhibitions, "Young People in Art" help at the Ex Convent del Carmen; Collective and workshop "Juan Jose Arreola Bestiary"; "Young Graphic Salon" "Modern Art Center" from 2002 to 2004, and the collective exhibition "Guadalajara Young Art" at Puerto Vallarta City Hall.
In turn, Aurora Diaz said that in her paintings she uses metals with which he tries to portray a cold, rusted, rigid society. In each piece she includes a mirror, to reflect the image of the viewer. Her technique based on bee wax and natural resins; and piroxilina, where she combines several other techniques.
She has participated in exhibitions in the Guadalajara Modern Art Center ; the 11 th , 12 th and 13 th Young Graphic Salon; in the 12 th "Salon of woman in Art" in 2003. She has also participated in "Young Promises of Jaliscan Art" in the Jorge Martinez Gallery in Guadalajara ; as well as in "Graphic in Motion" as exhibition in the Journalism and Graphic Arts Museum , 2001 and in Consume Mexican Meat in 2004, in Guadalajara .
Laura Garcia explained the audience that after a heartbreak , she tried to imprint every emotion felt, stage by stage, starting from depression and ending at the getting over, in her painting titled "Brave women" she uses many colors in several shades and commented that women are like that, many colored according to their state of mind. She remarked on the fragility of a woman and the hardships she endures in a male-dominant society. She dominates oil and encaustic techniques.
In 1997 Garcia moved her residence to Cabo San Lucas, South Baja and it is there that she defines her attitude towards art. She worked in art workshops and participated actively in art festivals. In 200 she registers in the Visual Arts BA in Guadalajara , where she currently studies. In his speech at the opening ceremonies, Extension Coordinator Jorge Vargas Moreno, thanked the artist for their donations, and commented that the administration of Rector Javier Orozco will continue to support cultural projects to benefit the community of Puerto Vallarta .

Luego de ofrecer una conferencia sobre técnicas y estilos en sus obras plásticas y estilos en sus obras plásticas, el pasado 1 de octubre, tres artistas tapatíos donaron obras y expusieron sus trabajos en la Galería de Arte Permanente Peter Gray del Centro Universitario de la Costa. En la inauguración de la exposición denominada "Punto de partida", Adán Medina, Aurora Díaz y Laura García acercaron sus propuestas a los universitarios.
El joven escultor Adán Medina mencionó que el tipo de arte que utiliza es el abstracto ya que según él, abstracto crea conflictos a los artistas, lo que le ha permitido explorar una técnica de contrastes, como el frío y el calor, realizando sus trabajos en materiales como el aluminio y la madera. "En mi obra intento reflejar miradas féminas, lo que piensa la sociedad de ellas y lo que ellas mismas representan". Sus obras no rebasan los 20 cm. Sin embargo expresó Medina trata de mostrar en cada pieza un monumento e intenta romper con un academicismo dentro del otro.
Adán Medina ha montado exposiciones en diversas ocasiones de las cuales destacan: La exposición colectiva "Jóvenes en el arte" llevada acabo con el"Ex convento del Carmen"; Exposición colectiva y Workshop "El Bestiario de Juan José Arreola"; "Salón de la plástica joven", "Centro de Arte Moderno " desde el año 2000 hasta el 2004 y Exposición colectiva "Arte joven tapatío", "Palacio Municipal de Puerto Vallarta".
Por su parte, Aurora Díaz, expreso que en sus cuadros utiliza los metales con los que trata de representar una sociedad fría, oxidada y rígida. En cada obra presenta un pequeño espejo con le fin de que el espectador se refleje a través de ella.
Su técnica utilizada es la Encáustica que es una técnica muy noble basada en ceras de abejas y resinas naturales; y la Piroxilina en donde mezcla varias técnicas.
Ella ha montado exposiciones en el Centro De Arte Moderno de Guadalajara, Jalisco, en el "XI, XII y XIII Salón de la Plástica Joven, (2002, 2003, 2004), y en el "XII Salón de la Mujer en el Arte", año 2003. De igual manera participó en "Jóvenes Promesas de la Plástica Jalisciense" (2002, 2003) en la Galería Jorge Martínez en Guadalajara Jalisco. También en el Museo del Periodismo y la Artes Gráficas, en "Plástica en Movimiento" (2001), y en Consume carne mexicana (2004); en Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Por último, Laura García explicó que después de una ruptura amorosa trató de plasmar cada sentimiento vivido, etapa por etapa, partiendo de un estado depresivo finalizando en la superación del problema. En su obra titulada "Las mujeres bravas" utiliza muchos colores en distintas tonalidades y expresó que las mujeres son así, de distintos colores para cada estado de animo. Recalco también la fragilidad de la mujer y la dureza a la que se somete ante una sociedad machista. Utiliza como técnica los oleos y la Encáustica.
En 1997 García cambia de residencia, a la ciudad de Cabos San Lucas, en Baja California Sur, y es ahí donde define su postura hacia las artes, trabajando en los talleres de pintura y participa activamente en los festivales de arte.
En el año 2000 ingresa a la Licenciatura en Artes Visuales, en el centro de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño, de forma totalmente autodidacta la Universidad de Guadalajara, donde actualmente realiza sus estudios Cabe destacar que en su discurso de inauguración de "Punto de Partida" el Coordinador de Extensión, Jorge Vargas Moreno, agradeció las donaciones que recibió el CUC de los tres artistas, además mencionó que la administración del rector Javier Orozco, seguirán impulsando proyectos culturales en beneficio de la comunidad de Puerto Vallarta.

On Friday October 15, Mayor Gustavo González and the Puerto Vallarta delegation were at the City highland Park , Ill. , where they meet Mayor Miuchael Belsky, who said he felt honored by the opportunity to share this sisterhood with his Vallartan counterpart.
The City of Hihgland Park is situedes in the outskirts of Chicago , and it has a population of 30,000. It is a tranquil community with a grteat economic, cultural and educational development. Hihgland Park is home to the most influential business leadrs in Chicago and the surrounding areas.
It is very importat to Puerto Vallarta , becouse of the great potential for joint ventures with local business.
As he gave the keys to the City to Mayor Gustavo González, Mr. Belsky expressed his enormous satisfation to bring about the two cities.
 Mr. Belsky reflected on the importance of strengthening friendship bonds among humans, mainly iin these times of war the northern country is living. "I am a man of peace and friendship, not of war" said the Mayor of Hihgland Park as he sook hands with Mayor González Villaseñor.
The Mayor and personnel of the City Hall made it evident how important this sisterhood is to their city, and expressed their appreciation for the beauty of Puerto Vallarta and the warmth of its people.
González Villaseñor, in turn, expressed his thankfulness for the considetarions he received from his counterpart, and replied to his message by saying that "brothers walk togheter, support each other, are always there to lend a hand, and think of what is best for both. That's what Puerto Vallareta and Highland Par are" and with these words he received the Resolution Act of the sisterhood agreement.
One of the most remarkable points in Mayor Belsky's address, was the concrete proposal to start working on an cooperation agreement with educational benefits for both cities, which was welcomed by Mr. González Villaseñor, becouse he himsalf can, after a visit to Hihgland Park's high school, to the city's excellent educational level.
Mr. Belsky's visit is expected in December, who will travel with a group of students, from Highland Park 's high school orchesta for a series of performances here.
After the sisterhood protocol act, attended also by the chairpersons of the Sister Cities Committees, Richard Wolfe and Ana Maria Flores from Hihgland Park and Puerto Vallarta , respectively, authorities and members of the committees from both cities celebrated the event in the gala dinner that followed.
