Meeting Place Mexico
Puerto Vallarta Jal. June 20 2006 – The 4th edition of Meeting Place México ended with its highest ever buyers numbers.
Fernando Compeán, president of MPM, explained that he was delighted that Meeting Place Mexico has developed a genuine reputation for a level of detailed and attentive organization that is widely appreciated by buyers and exhibitors alike.
He announced total numbers of participants for 2006 of 450 - of which over 155 were hosted buyers from 14 countries in total. This compares to 113 hosted buyers in 2005. MPM had the participation of 99 companies in 96 booths and 3014 appointments were made during the 2 days of exhibition.
 He said, “After four years, it is clear that our exhibitors now see Meeting Place Mexico as the most professional show in Mexico”. He also shared some of the positive feedback he had received from many of the show’s exhibiting companies. Their remarks reflected a strong appreciation of the professional atmosphere at MPM, which they believe makes networking and doing business both easy and comfortable. Exhibitors have also remarked the good appointments they had and strong interest from buyers at the show who arrive at Puerto Vallarta with specific projects in mind.
Talking about the successes of 2006, Compeán explained that this year’s MPM leads exchange had been a great success. 9 Mexican destinations shared information of their itinerant events.
Meeting Place Mexico educational program in partnership with ICCA, was a success and also the students forum who was supported by ICCA and SITE Mexico Chapter. Summing up, MPM president, Fernando Compean said, “Puerto Vallarta is our home. We have tremendous partners in the Mexico Tourism Board and the Puerto Vallarta Convention & Visitors Bureau and in the management team of the Sheraton Buganvilias, our host hotel, the DMC association as well as the rest of the participant hotels and the volunteers who have played a critical part in our success so far.”
He also announce the dates for MPM 2007, 23th – 26th may 2007.
