Details about the First World-wide Philia are announced

This great encounter will summon nearly 800 young people from all over Mexico, the United States and Central America.

With the fundamental intention of creating values and principles that allow the development of character,awareness for the preservation of natural resources and knowledge of the means influencing the evolution of human beings, theMexican Scout Association will celebrate its “First National Philia of Travelers" in Puerto Vallarta.

With the support of governmental and social organizations, this great meeting will summon around 800young people from the whole country between July 30th and August 5th of thisyear. The program consists of a series of actions allowingthe participants to acquire knowledge of the flora and fauna of the region, as well as the opportunity to get to know and to visit all the places of both historical and tourist interest.

In the same way, activities of physical skill, artistic formation, teamwork and personal perfecting will be combined and applied. For the participants this constitutes an extensive range of possibilities for personal growth.

During a press conference, the organizing committee presented the details of this important massive event in the city. The committee is composed of Mauricio Veayra Calderon, national commissioner for educational programs; Jose Adolfo Lopez Sampson Felix, president of the Scout province Jalisco; Gabriela Flores, commissioner of the program of the Jalisco state and Alberto Villa Meza, leader of the group #1 in Puerto Vallarta, as well as the municipal private secretary, Eduardo Garcia Joya, representing the mayor Gustavo Gonzalez Villaseñor.

Veayra Calderon explained that the scout organization is an educational institution concerned with the extra-scholastic formation of children, adolescents and adults. It seeks to promote a healthy development of its members through building self-esteem and cultivating their capacities viewing them as active human beings of a participating society wishing to help the neediest and coping in an environment it seeks to preserve.

The leader of the port’s group #1 indicated that in additionto the forum that this city represents for the participants, Puerto Vallarta will be projected as an important place for ecotourism and recreation. This will give the destination a great tourist promotion.

It has to be emphasized that this transcendental Scout celebration with participants from all over the Mexican Republic, the United States and Central America will take place within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Mexican Scout Association with its world-wide affiliation.
