4th International Altruism Festival - Four Successful Years Everything

Began with the dream of two women: Lita Aguirre and Kelly Trainor. Both are well-known for their active work agenda – one is the Public Relation Manager of the Marriot Hotel, the other is the Consular Agent of the United States in Puerto Vallarta - nevertheless both were able to make their dream come true: "The International Altruism Festival.” For the last 4 years it has been catalogued as one of the city’s most important philanthropic event.
Combining effort and will, Lita and Kelly demonstrated again this year that this effort is well worth the trouble since the number of associations benefiting from this festival increased once more. The secret is in adding flavor to the noble work of contributing to the less fortunate. This 4th Festival Altruism International succeeded in achieving the fabulous participation of 50 businesses related to the restaurant industry, whose
proprietors donated in an exemplary way 100% of their time, as well as food
and drink in order to support 20 charity associations in Banderas Bay.
Those present were able to savor the exquisite international flavors and enjoy the spectacular shows headed by various musical and dance groups that likewise donated their time and performances and fabulous raffle prizes. The whole celebration took place at the beautiful gardens of the Hotel Marriott Casa Magna Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa.
One of the most important points of this festival was the presentation of the 20 benefited charity institutions among which we have: the Los Mangos Library, Arturo and the Children of God, the Nursing Home CAIA, the Handicapped People of Vallarta (DIVAC), the Nursing Home San Juan Diego, the Animal Aid, the Rey Nayar Library in Bucerias, Nayarit, the Orphanage Maximo Cornejo, the Friendship Club of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, the Rehabilitation Clinic of Vallarta-Santa Barbara, the non-profit International Friendship Club of Puerto Vallarta, the non-profit Salvation Army, the Pumas Children School, the Down Foundation, the Ecological Group of Puerto Vallarta, the non-profit Loving Hands for the Bay, New Life Mexico, the Pitillal Project:
Look for a Friend, the non-profit Torpedoes and Toys for Tots; whose members were able to give their testimony concerning the kind of work each one of them is involved in a completely unselfish way.
In this vein the presence of our city’s altruism and generosity could be felt again during this relaxing and familiar afternoon. The organizers calculate that in this occasion the sum of money that was obtained reached approximately five hundred thousand pesos, which will be distributed among the benefited associations.
The only thing left to mention is that this amount surpassed the money raised during the International Altruism Festival 2006 which was estimated at 430 mil pesos.
