ATVs and Dune Buggies' Tours to be Regulated

In a move towards taking care of citizens’ claims and bringing harmony to the interests of neighbors, landowners and purveyors of touristic services operating ATVs and dune buggies, representatives of various City Hall offices involved met in search of a solution to this problem.

Headed by the secretary general, José Emigdio Hurtado Rolón, officers from Padrón y Licencias, Reglamentos, Turismo, Tránsito, Desarrollo Social, Servicios Públicos, Ecología and Fomento Agropecuario, analyzed the petitions of various sectors, the current rules and laws, the proposals for changes and the problems generated.

Puerto VAllarta Local NewsThe constant claims and discomfort caused by the tours of ATVs and dune buggies were the reason City Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal, instructed his collaborators to look for a solution that will regulate this activity.

The objective is to regulate and make the tours on these type of vehicles a sustainable activity, while allowing the neighbors and landowners to participate in the benefits obtained by it.

The authorities consider that Puerto Vallarta must be perceived as a competitive and sustainable destination as well as one that consolidates the responsible and professional participation of all the acting forces that give life to the port.

Investment with no precedent in PV this year

Thanks to the joint efforts of the City Hall’s officers, to the unity and commitment of the present regime and to the negotiations with the state and federal governments, the municipality of Puerto Vallarta will benefit from a historic investment of over 438 million pesos in public works during 2008, as stated by City Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal.

The above – he said – is the result of his intense negotiations with congress during 2007 where, with the support of representatives of various parliamentary groups, an allocation of 60 million pesos was successfully included in the budget for the present fiscal year for the construction of the second tunnel for the bypass  ‘Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta’.

By the same token, resources of about 58 million pesos were authorized within the state budget for various works, counting on the possibility of it being increased by 40 million pesos more, as a product of surplus oil sales which would apply for a series of works projected by the city government.

In addition to this, there are 220 million pesos that the state government will assign to completing the building of the Center for Multiple Uses or Conventions, also expected to be finished this year adding a plus to the touristic activity of the destination.

“Here our main interest is our population. Our commitment is to them, and above political parties stand the interests of our population. In Puerto Vallarta’s City Hall we are conscious of this and for this reason we will continue to work hard” said Bravo Carbajal.
