Further flooding in Ixtapa will be avoided

In order to avoid the floods affecting neighborhoods in the Ixtapa Delegation every rainy season, Puerto Vallarta’s City Hall is currently undertaking the works of rectifying and enlarging the brook of Santo Domingo.

The city mayor accompanied by the director of Public Works and the Municipal Delegate, supervised the realization of these works which will be of great benefit to the families inhabiting mainly the neighborhoods of La Esperanza, Niños Héroes and Getsemaní, among other housing and “ejido” community zones.

This work will make an important social impact as it will be offering safety to the families of Ixtapa and their possessions.

The brooks enlargement and cleanliness are being worked on as well as its rims, which will have a greater pitch in its incline as it reaches the Mascota River in order to prevent possible water stagnation that could have serious consequences. The cost of the works will exceed 3.5 million pesos, based on a project approved by the Comisión Nacional del Agua (National Water Commission) making the execution of these works viable.
