Improvements are starting to be noticed with the
City’s new lighting system

Works will soon continue in each district and new requests will be met. A few days from the launching of the public lighting modernization program, important advances are being felt with better lighting of streets, avenues, parks and public plazas.

In its first stage the working teams are dedicated to the El Pitillal delegation, in its downtown area as well as Prisciliano Sánchez Avenue. With this new lighting system the city will make substantial savings in energy costs.

Soon work will start in each district, in following with the commitment to address all citizens’ requests and therefore catch up with the programs where public lighting had fallen behind in Puerto Vallarta.

The city has invested 90 million pesos to purchase 23,000 lamps to replace the 22,806 lamps in the whole municipality.

Works longed for by Vallartenes come true

In January, the first stage of hydraulic concrete paving of Avenue González Gallo was inaugurated; it represents an investment of 9,700,000 pesos.

The city mayor stated that there are no magical projects and, in order to advance and make plans come true one must continue working. “This is a transcendental work for the neighbors of this area and for thousands of Vallartenses who daily transit through this place”.

The integral rehabilitation of González Gallo Avenue will allow a better flow of traffic as well as offering more safety for the inhabitants of the surrounding districts.

There will be more road works and better quality streets this year

The city mayor has pointed out that in order to boost the welfare and development of Vallartenses, as well as to strengthen our destination; important resources will be dedicated to catch up, to the best of his ability, with the existing delay in public works and urban infrastructure in different districts and communities.

The city government is now committed to do longer lasting and better quality works, replacing cobble stone with hydraulic concrete, as has been done with many road works carried out last year.

Among the most important works the City Hall is contemplating this year, is the first stage of Los Poetas (The Poets) Avenue, this avenue will link México-Mojoneras Avenue with several districts on the upper parts of El Pitillal, as Magisterio, El Progreso, among others. The city government will invest around 60 million pesos.
