Alert
from Acapulco Subject: the UPS company. It
appears that an unknown party has purchased U.S. $30,000. worth of UPS uniforms
recently. People who deal with UPS on a regular basis or receive deliveries
via UPS from time to time are warned to ask for ID from the delivery person to
ensure that they are indeed UPS employees. The huge purchase
of those UPS uniforms originated in Canada. Due to the numbers involved, the advice
is: better be safe than sorry.
A Hearty

PROFEPA
to Fine Illegal Users At least 32 users of the Federal
Maritime Land Zone were detected, whose use of the land granted by the Department
of Natural Resources involves irregularities, with administrative-type or patrimonial
(for not having paid for the rights related to the surface area exploited) omissions
and works that cause imbalance and deterioration of the ecological environment.
Following the inspection and revision visit of which the Federal Department of
Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) is responsible, users will have up to 90 days,
according to each case, to correct the anomalies they are guilty of. At such time,
their respective transactions will be regularized. The
judicial Director of PROFEPA in the state of Jalisco pointed out that there has
been no desire on the part of the municipal authorities to sign the agreement
that would enable police inspectors to fulfill inspection functions that fall
under federal jurisdiction and this attitude affects the revenue of the community
itself. He pointed out that the delegation of authority to a group of inspectors
working for City Hall has been promoted for some time now, and this served as
pretext for the creation of police inspectors who would be trained in methods
of inspection and supervision in federal matters. Archives
