MEXICO MAGICO

Acronismos = Acronyms

By Prof. German Estrada - April 2007

An ACRONYM is a word formed from the first (or first few) letters of a series of words. As we have arrived at a time in which maybe even our own and proper names will be converted into Acronyms (hey you ABR, or HNM…!), let’s know and get acquainted with  some of the most common Acronyms used by government agencies, banks, organizations, etc., etc., in this  our México Mágico and, of course, in Puerto Vallarta.

In the future, whenever you may be told to go to the CANACERO located in the ZM so that they can help you to understand why AHMSA is charging you the inflation % rate that is “tie” with the CETES that BANXICO put for sale this month…, you’ll know where to look for the meaning of those scary words.

One doesn’t have to memorize them, but I think it’s not a bad idea to know a little bit about them.  Have fun!
