On a working tour through the state of Baja California, Tourism Minister Rodolfo Elizondo Torres assured that Mexico is an extraordinary country in which to do business with certitude and safety.

During the inauguration of the third edition of the "Annual Tourism Investment Forum Baja California Meeting Point", he pointed out that this reunion will contribute to show to national and international investors the array of business opportunities being developed in the touristic sector.

"In what relates to investment projects and development conditions in the tourism sector, be it in the Sea of Cortez or in the rest of the country, we in the federal government have established a serious compromise to generate the conditions to consolidate Mexico as a country granting certitude and confidence to investors allowing the flows of currency needed to boost economic dynamics”, he noted.

He also added that Mexico has its future in tourism and that tourism has a great future in Mexico, since the crossover work generated by tourism will allow the federal government to create more jobs and more productive investment, only this way can we profit from the enormous potential of tourism in favor of Mexico.

"Within this vision of Mexico as a leader and a competitive country, entrepreneurs and investors play a fundamental leading role , you are meant to respond to this call to achieve better results and a strengthened touristic sector”, remarked Elizondo Torres.

cruceroThe head of Sectur (Mexican Tourism Ministry) praised the celebration of this type of events, since they attract investments and generate employment, strategic subjects within the government program of President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, who has taken upon himself to make tourism the engine of well-being for Mexicans.

“Within this purpose of making Mexico one of the world’s main tourism destinations, President Calderón has announced an ambitious National Infrastructure Plan 2007-12, and its execution will represent a keystone for the country’s development, having a most favorable impact on the touristic activities as it contemplates construction  and refurbishment of ports, airports, roads, docks, among other infrastructure projects that will allow and promote increased flows of tourism” he noted.

The tourism minister pointed out that within our pledge to become a more competitive country in the tourism sector, making investors promote long-term businesses that further the development of towns and regions, three major undertakings have been conceived:

  • To diversify touristic products and attractions.
  • To increase the quality of services.
  • To stay within the environmental regulations with order and planning.
