June 2010
The Presidency reports that as part of his official visit to Canada, President Felipe Calderón met this morning with CEOs from the Canadian tourist sector.
At the meeting, they exchanged points of view on bilateral relations between Mexico and Canada, the current situation in Mexico and its potential for tourism and investment.
During an interactive dialogue, the Mexican president described the enormous attraction Mexico has for Canadians. He added that government is working to ensure that Mexico is an unforgettable experience for visitors, by providing training and support for tourist investments and developing infrastructure.
The participants shared their views and stressed the fact that Mexico's hospitality provides an enormous competitive advantage, distinguishing it from other parts of the world.
Lastly, the President invited businessmen in the Canadian tourist sector to exploit recent market niches oriented towards cultural, environmental and ecotourism in Mexico and to discover the Routes of Mexico, presented last week, as well as sun and beach destinations.
