| Dolphin Magic |

Many are the blessings of living in the Banderas Bay area.
I have taken great joy in exploring the diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna, as well as witnessing the varied lifestyles of the people living off the land and the sea.
But it was my encounters with dolphins that struck me the most, so far as a to set them as a category apart.
Sailing the bay is one of my favorite pastimes and I have found that, perhaps due to our lack of motor and our moderate speed, dolphins take pleasure in joining sailing vessels, racing along our bow in pairs to have curious looks at us sharing our curiosity for them.
As seasons come and go different flowers bloom, landscape changes and different species migrate in and out of the bay area. But there is a certain degree of magic to being able to sail and enjoy the sun and the company of dolphins just about every day of the year
Also the idea that dolphins and sharks do not get along, it would take some explaining as to why we are on the dolphin side, I’ll settle for magic.
Adding to my joy, was finding out that dolphins are never deceived by our fishing lures, whereas I have caught many different species, even birds, knowing that dolphins are too intelligent to bite, was for me, well, magic.
There are many stories about interactions between dolphins and humans, men and women pushed ashore and saved from drowning. Dolphins killed by stalking soldiers who did not want to be helped ashore at that precise moment.
One of my favorites though, is: if dolphins are so intelligent, why haven’t they further evolved?
Well, thing is they are in such harmony with their environment, they are just right as they are.
