NEED HELP

International Festival of Alturism Handed Checks for $603,500 pesos
Provided By Ambito

Last May, the International Festival of Altruism took place in the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort, and early this week, the proceeds of the event were distributed among 20 charitable organizations in Puerto Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas.

CasaMagna Marriott’s PR Manager Josefina Naya and US Consular Agent Kelly Trainor, two of the most important driving forces behind the festival, conducted the handing of the checks to participating organizations. Each of the organizations received an equal share of the proceeds, in the form of a 30, 175 peso check.

Kelly Trainor thanked each and every one of the participants in the noble cause because, she said, “it means a lot more than money and a purpose, it means love”.
After the thank you messages, recognition awards were presented to participating restaurants, among them were Outback Steakhouse, Café des Artistes, Kaiser Maximilian, Las Casitas, Mikado and a number of other restaurants.

It was time to hand out the checks to selected charities, among which are Asilo de Ancianos CAIA, New Life México, Club Internacional de la Amistad, Discapacitados Vallartenses DIVAC, Escuela de Fútbol Filial Pumas, Fundación Down, Grupo Ecológico de Puerto Vallarta, Manos de Amor por Bahía,, Clínica de Rehabilitación Santa Bárbara, Club de la Amistad La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Asilo San Juan Diego, Casa Hogar Máximo Cornejo, Ayuda a los Animales, Ejercito de Salvación, Torpedos, Toys for Tots, Arturo y los hijos de Dios, Biblioteca Rey Nayar, Biblioteca Los Mangos y Proyecto Pitillal Busca un Amigo.

Seventeen hundred people attended the International Festival of Altruism this year, making it possible to raise the aforementioned amount, along with the generous participation of Banamex, which provided a much appreciated rest area for participants and audience.

This year’s edition of the International Festival of Altruism, “From Vallarta and for Vallarta” surpassed last year’s achievements. Expectations for next year, accordingly, are high. Thank you all for helping.
