SOLSTICIO DE VERANO.
El Dia 21 de Junio se celebra en el Hemisferio norte, el dia mas largo y la noche mas corta del año esto es por que justo en éste dia, aunque puede variar entre el 20 y 22 de Junio debido a la irregularidad del calendario, el sol se pondrá mas hacia el norte, al contrario del solsticio de invierno que el sol se pone mas hacia el sur. Justo en ésta fecha la tierra tiene una inclinación de 23,5 grados en direccion al sol y se mantiene así durante varios días casi sin moverse, de ahí el nombre de solsticio que significa en latin ¨Sol Quieto¨

Y ciertamente el 21 de Junio no es un día cualqueira, pues la naturaleza, el hombre y las estrellas se disponen a celebrar una fiesta, cargada de esplendor y energía en la que los agricultores dan gracias por los cosechas. También se pide por la fecundidad de la tierra y de los mismos hombres. Asi mismo se comienza a almacenar alimentos para pasar el Otoño el Invierno.

DÍA DEL PADRE

La idea de celebrar el dia del Padre se le occurrió proponerlo a Sonora Smart Dodd Washington en el año 1909. Ésta mujer quería homenajear a su padre, quien era un veterano de la Guerra civil del las Estados Unidos llamado Henry Jackson Smart , que enviudo cuando su esposa dio a luz a su sexto hijo. A partir de ahí crió a sus hijos siendo padre y madre, y como el Sr. Smart nació el dia 19 de Junio, su hija propuso esa fecha como día del Padre.

Ésta idea fue acogida con entusiasmo por muchas personas y fue hasta el año de 1924 cuando el Presidente de los Estados Unidos Calvin Coolidge apoyó la idea de establecer el dia nacional del Padre. En el año de 1966 el Presidente Lyndon Johnson firmo una proclamación que declara el 3er. Domingo de Junio como el día del Padre en los Estados Unidos de Norte America.

En México al igual que otros Países latinoamericanos lo adoptaron como fecha oficial. Igual que el dia de la madre, muchas familias se reúnen a festejar o realizar convivencia en nombre de los padres, abuelos, preparándoles algun platillo y repartiendoles algún obsequio ó simplemente solo para pasar un rato agradable con la familia.

Ingredientes:
6 elotes frescos
6 huevos
1 ½ latas de leche condensada
225 grs de mantequilla
2 cucharadas de polvo para hornear
1 cuch de canela molída
2 tazas de harina de trigo
Nuez ó almendas ó chispas de chocolate al gusto.

Preparaciòn:

Quitar los granos de elote de las mazorcas, molerlos en un procesador de alimentos.
2. Licuar el resto de los ingredients, vacíe en un tazón junto con los granos de elote y mezclelos hasta que se integren.
3. Engrase y enharine los moldes para panquecitos, rellene hasta ¾ de su capacidad. Agregar nuez ó chispas de chocolate al gusto.
4. Hornear a 180 C por 40 minutos ó hasta que al inserter un palillo éste salga seco y limpio.

Deje enfriar antes de desmoldar.

Acompañelos como postre ó aperitivo con un vaso de leche bien frío ó con café negro de Fredys Tucan

SUMMER SOLSTICE.

The Day June 21 is celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest day and shortest night of the year is just on this day, although it can vary between 20 and 22 June due to the irregularity of the schedule, sun will set further north, in contrast to the winter solstice the sun sets further south. It was on that date the land has an inclination of 23.5 degrees in the direction of the sun and mantienne well for several days almost motionless, hence the name of the solstice it means in Latin · ¨Still Sun

And certainly the June 21 is not an ordinary day the nature, the man and the stars are set to hold a party, full of splendor and power in which farmers give thanks for the harvest. It also calls for the fruitfulness of the earth and the same men. Likewise, we begin to store food to spend the Autumn Winter.

FATHERS DAY

The idea of celebrating Father's day happened many years ago, Sonora Smart Dodd of Washington DC proposed it in 1909. This woman wanted to pay homage to her father, who was a Civil War veteran of the United States named Henry Jackson Smart, was widowed when his wife gave birth to her sixth child. From there she raised her children to be father and mother, and as Mr. Smart was born on June 19, her daughter suggested that date as Father's Day.

This idea was greeted with enthusiasm by many people and was until 1924 when the United States President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of establishing the National Day of the Father. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a proclamation declaring the 3rd. Sunday of June as Father's Day in the United States of America.

In Mexico as well as other Latin American countries adopted it as the official date. Same as Mother's Day, many families gather to celebrate or perform on behalf of the living parents, grandparents, preparing a dish and giving out a gift or simply just to spend some time with the family.

Recipe of the Month

MUFFINS (PANQUECITOS) DE ELOTE
CORN MUFFINS

Ingredients:

6 fresh corn
6 eggs
A ½ cans of condensed milk
225 grams of butter
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 cups flour
Walnut or Almond or chocolate chips to taste.

Preparation:

Remove corn kernels from the cobs, grind in a food processor.
Blend the remaining ingredients, pour into a bowl along with corn kernels and mix until blended.
Grease and flour the molds for cupcakes, fill to ¾ full. Add nuts or chocolate chips to taste.
Bake at 180 C for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out dry and clean.
Cool before removing from pan.

Join them as an appetizer or dessert with a glass of chilled milk or black coffee in Fredys Tucan
