SISTER CITIES
Letter from Rick and Carol Wolf
Rick & Carol Wolfe - May 2007
I hope all is well with you in PV. For the last two weeks, 4 artists from PV and their teacher, Nunik Sauret, visited Highland Park and taught classes at our high school.
This is an event which we hold every 2 years where the high school is closed and only art classes are taught to the students, their parents and the community. The classes of the PV artists were filled and a new class had to be added. The week concluded with a cocktail party at the Consulate in Chicago which was hosted by the new counsel general in Chicago, Ambassador Manuel Rodriguez. There were over 200 people at the reception where the artists displayed their artwork.
Michael Belsky, the Mayor of Highland Park gave the new counsel the key to the City and he also gave the visiting artists keys to the city and proclamations thanking them and the sister cities for making their visit possible. The artists spent an additional week in Chicago visiting the Art Institute and other sites. This artistic exchange was a benefit not only to the students at our high school but it was a positive experience for the artists. This event could be made a part of the sister cities link and if you want a photo or want more information, let me know. I have one of our Mayor, the counsel general and the artists. Hope to see you soon in PV or Chicago.
Sincerely,
Rick & Carol Wolfe.
