Kaiser Maximilian Restaurant & Café - A surprising Austrian corner! |
By: The Editor |
Standing out in a destination where gastronomy is a very competitive area is an achievement that only very few manage. Kaiser Maximilian Restaurant & Café is a place that has always stood out throughout the years being consistent in offering a unique taste of Austrian origins, within a very pleasant atmosphere and with an excellent service, surprising with exquisite details that make you fall in love.
Wanting to spend a romantic evening, we arrived at the restaurant after almost four years without having visited it. The first thing we received was a heartfelt welcome by the chief waiter who greeted me with my name and invited me to choose the area where I would like to be seated. I was tempted to go for the terrace on the sidewalk next to the street where the atmosphere is always very colorful, however staying loyal to the original idea, I preferred a corner where a huge, large window offers a view of the lobby of the Los Arcos Hotel evoking the patio of an ancient hacienda.
For starters we ordered from the Gourmet Festival menu a combination of "Sautéed crab cake, grilled shrimp, octapus and salad" and from the regular menu, "Spinach strudel with mixed greens and tomatoes" . While looking over the extensive menu of international wines available in their wine vault, we were surprised by a delicious detail sent by the chef to sample. It was a "Squas and apple soup with Styrian pumpkin seed oil". This apparently caused a frenzy amongst the companions that attended the restaurant during the Gourmet Festival. And truly the combination of these ingredients results in a soft, very exquisite taste.
When the entrees arrived at our table, just seeing their presentation, our appetite was increased. Both entrees were served in an original way which made the coloring that results from the spectacular combination of the ingredients stand out. Most certainly we started right away with the feast without any fuss.
Our main dishes were also from the festival's menu: "Roasted sea bass with herb risotto and white bean vinaigrette" and "Beef tenderloin with red flannel hash, green peppercorn and hollandaise sauces" . The portions were just right and it is inevitable to acknowledge that we were conquered by the flavors. Our dinner was a genuine adventure through aromas and flavors that my mind could have never imagined existed, and least that I would enjoy them.
Everything happened while an atmosphere of a very exclusive intimacy could be perceived in the place, while at the same time there was a slight aroma of coffee floating through the air without blending with the other aromas. Our bill was seven hundred and twenty-five pesos, including 4 mixed drinks without alcohol and a regular coffee for me. Besides considering it a reasonable price to pay, I paid with pleasure.
Fortunately it is not easy to describe everything that you can perceive in Kaiser Maximilians Restaurant and Café, and I say fortunately because it compels me to return.
Through his personal commitment towards excellence, Mr. Andreas Rupprechter, the owner of the restaurant, has created a unique space that is always widely recommended by a hundred per cent of its customers.
In the romantic zone of Puerto Vallarta, Kaiser Maximilians Restaurant and Café is a star of the International Gourmet Festival which takes place each year in our destination. It offers a first class guarantee in its products, a strict control in its preparation, an exquisite flavor, an intimate atmosphere, reasonable prices, an excellent service and a magnificent attention from everybody that works there.
Another aspect that distinguishes the place is the extensive variety of combinations created with coffee, which can also be prepared as decaffeinated. Amongst the most popular combinations is the Carlota Coffee, prepared with orange liquor and whip cream. If the coffee options listed in the menu should not be sufficient for you, you are cordially invited to ask the waiter for a wider selection.
There is no doubt that Mr. Andreas Rupprechter, a native to Austria , has achieved creating an exclusive place where he offers culinary creations of European tradition, unique in Puerto Vallarta ! Congratulations!
