On May 17th. after a beautiful mass celebrated in honor of Saint Pascual Bailón (patron saint of the cooks and chefs) and conducted by the Bishop of Tepic Don Alfonso Robles Cota, the gastronomical exhibition, also in honor of the patron saint, started at 6:00 p.m.
Approximately twenty traditional as well as international, contemporary and specialty restaurants sent their representatives with samples of their most popular dishes and/or their most recent creations.
The event turned out to be an excellent and warm-hearted platform for a great part of the gastronomical community of Vallarta in order to meet and to share, in a way which has not been seen in this port since many years ago. Municipal authorities and famous personalities were invited as guests of honor contributing to enhance the event. Throughout the afternoon, while more visitors were arriving, a space was created where happy conversations were the perfect complement to the delight experienced by the hundreds of people assisting while they were passing the different food stands tasting the exquisite samples offered by each exhibitor.
This culinary banquet of delicious gastronomical samples was organized by the CANIRAC [National Restaurant Chamber of Puerto Vallarta) headed by its president Mr. The exhibition was elaborated with great creativity and mastery and presented with grand glamour and enthusiasm.
Everything was exquisite and the most outstanding thing during this celebration in honor of Saint Pascual Bailón, was the atmosphere of authentic local Vallarta brotherhood that was perceived and breathed in each corner of the new Hidalgo Park which was the stage where the event took place.
