We
arrived at the dock at 6:00 pm and in a few minutes
we were called to embark on the Vallarta Adventure’s
boat for a tour called “Rhythms of the Night”.
In order to respect your emotions
and the truth that you will experience yourselves when
you personally enjoy this tour, I will not describe
in detail what we had the opportunity to witness. Nevertheless,
I will share our own experience with you.
From the very beginning, even before
embarking, you can feel that the tour will be enhanced
by a sense of camaraderie. The boat takes off to the
north cruising the coast towards the Caletas beach that
can only be reached by boat. This is the beach that
I have often seen from afar but never stopped to enjoy.
As a photo fanatic, I must say that just seeing Vallarta
from the sea makes the trip worthwhile. Vallarta is
truly beautiful! At times you can see how the Sierra
Madre hugs a town full of freshness and color, where
different cultures mix creating a warm ambiance in a
place that has been called “The Friendliest City
in the World”.
After cruising for about an hour
and having stopped to watch the spectacular sunset,
as well as the fun presentation of each of the crew
members, we arrived at the Caletas beach almost at dusk.
From the boat you could appreciate how an enigmatic
tropical place, lighted by torches, foretold a night
of mystery, emotion and adventure.
Upon arriving on shore at Caleta,
aided by a magnificent audio visual production, one
can perceive that something strangely magnificent is
about to be experienced. It’s like disconnecting
from everyday life to hook up spiritually to the past,
as well as with nature and its essence - in an unknown
dimension. The setting and the locations are perfect.
On arrival we are invited to choose
a strategically located table to enjoy dinner. Some
of us chose tables next to the beach while others preferred
tables a little higher up in the jungle surrounded by
palm trees and ferns. The place is magnificent and spectacular.
The buffet offers a varied and colorful
array of dishes of excellent flavor. Nobody stays hungry
and we all agreed it was delicious. By the way, all
the desserts disappeared! I was able to observe how
many tried all the different desserts that were offered.
Exquisite!
After dinner, Claudia and I walked
through the place. We felt like children, fascinated
at every turn, crossing bridges, visiting huts and snooping
into those places we thought seemed strange. We arrived
upon a place were the white ocean foam bathed one of
the beaches while the smiling moon above stared down
at us, caressing us with her light. In this scenario,
surrounded by palm trees, the breeze slowly moved the
fronds, generating shadows that crossed our path. The
moon bathed us in her shining light.
We
were getting acquainted with the various paths when
the pre-Hispanic show was announced. Another surprise!
We were invited to walk into another, totally different
area. After walking for a while we arrived at a hidden,
magic place. The setting is an open amphitheater-like
space with a scenario that replicates an Aztec pyramid
surrounded by tropical jungle with all its aroma and
enchanting sounds. That night the performance depicted
“The Discovery of Corn.” I have no words
to describe the magnificent acting skills of each and
every member of the cast. With each movement, we were
transported to a marvelous world full of mysticism and
color that we have only had the chance to visit through
some books. I can truly say that there isn’t any
other event in Puerto Vallarta that is quite as spectacular.
This is what I call an excellent organization and production.
After witnessing this performance, I felt even prouder
to be Mexican, and to live in Puerto Vallarta. The good
news is that all the dances and presentations change
periodically. We will surely return very soon to enjoy
their exceptional work once more.
Anyone who visits Vallarta should
not miss the opportunity to enjoy “Rhythms of
the Night”! My most sincere congratulations to
Vallarta Adventures and their collaborators. “Rhythms
of the Night” is an incomparable experience.
The tour includes transportation
by boat, open bar, dinner and pre-Hispanic show that
may be enjoyed for only $70.00 US Dls. I wish to share
with you that it is worth every penny. Tips are not
included. If you wish to pay less, I suggest you make
your reservation on line at the official Vallarta Adventure
web site: www.vallarta-adventures.com
Until the next one!...
