 Mentioning the Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta, evokes a space of downtown
where the main ingredient is coloring, and through it a mixing of the
typical with the ancient and the modern, the caste, the simplicity, the
variety, the jungle, the ocean, the day, the night, the corner, the calmness
of the village and the hum of its coastal atmosphere. All of this and
much more are representing the Romantic Zone of Vallarta.
A romantic person is someone, man or woman, who lets love flow through
his being so that it may manifest in unsuspected forms without thinking
whether it is in accordance with what is stipulated or not. In this same
sense, in the Romantic Zone, at day or night, life manifests itself unimaginable
ways to be shared between locals and visitors. At present, the Romantic
Zone has become the center of reunions for various cultures interlacing
in order to enjoy each attractive feature.
 In the north the Romantic Zone borders with
the banks of the Cuale river, in the east with Insurgentes street,
in the south with Santa Barbara street and in the west with the world-wide
famous "Playa de Los Muertos" (Beach
of The Dead) which is bathed daily by the ocean, caressed by the breeze
of a soft wind and decorated with slender and sensual palm trees. Some
of the best restaurants, art galleries, shops, prestigious boutiques,
coffee shops, discos, bars, traditional hotels, condos, car rentals,
supermarkets, drug stores, jewelry stores, cyber cafes, hairdressers,
spas, gift stores, and local arts and crafts of Vallarta are found within
its borders, in addition to the largest range of services that may be
offered in any one place. Nothing can compare to the atmosphere generated
and transmitted by all of that. Even during the early Sunday morning
hours, when the area is most quiet, you may perceive that the Romantic
Zone, all by itself, attracts the majority of the port visitors. Due
to its charm and versatility, the Romantic Zone is like a park converted
by those who meet here in honor of culture, tradition and entertainment.
 The Romantic Zone invites to stroll along its
streets and beaches to get to know it. Depending on the hour, it offers
different landscapes, distinguished by the fact that it offers the
opportunity to observe the tourist movement, mixing with the local
everyday life. As an example of this I can share that in the early
hours of any workday, you can witness how hundreds of local children
arrive at their schools, dressed in their uniforms and carrying their
knapsacks. Many are accompanied by their mothers, creating a colourful
painting full of joy that is contagious for just about anyone. On the
old pier you may still appreciate fishing by "thread or hemp" sustained
by a plastic can, which is mainly practiced by kids and young people
maintaining alive a tradition that comes from their great grandparents.
At nighttime in the light of the moon and the stars, while enjoying
an exquisite dinner, you may observe the people walking on the street
or enjoy the breeze seen off by the waves breaking on the beach, and
simultaneously listen to the voice of a passing singer who delights
our senses with a Mexican song and even though we do not understand
the words, we recognize that what he feels while singing is the same
feeling that some of us have felt more than once for a lover that we
remember or that we share our live with today. Many of us recuperate
our sensibility in the Romantic Zone. Everyone is and everything becomes
in the Romantic Zone.
If not the best, this is one of the most indicated locations for a vacationer
to capture, to perceive and to take in through the eyes of the camera
the carnival of a life played, suffered and enjoyed daily while offering
a kind a playful service to national and foreign visitors.
 It is in the Romantic Zone where the essence
of the village of Vallarta - that
attracted the first international tourists - still survives in the midst
of all modern comfort. The distinction of the Romantic Zone is that there
is no distinction, there we are all equal, an essential part of its movement,
of its flavor and its color.
