Celebration of patriotic holidays,
her majesty Sarita the First with princesses
and other ball attendants.
|
Señor Gabriel Nuño Vicencio was the
Mayor of Vallarta in 1931. After a town meeting held
in July, it was agreed to organize the annual September
celebrations of the Patriotic Holidays. The beautiful
damsel Señorita Sarita Díaz was elected
Queen of Vallarta. Sarita later married Señor
Gabriel Nuño Vicencio. Felisa Ramírez
and Concha Guzmán were the princesses and the
Queen escort was doctor Jesús Soto Granados,
president of the Patriotic Holidays Committee.
My husband, Roberto, municipal vice-president of Vallarta,
crowned her Majesty Sarita the Fist in absence of the
Mayor. The crowing ceremony followed by the ball, took
place on the top floor of Saucedo Theater. Catalina
